For some reason, many travelers never make it to Mississippi. Although Mississippi does not have any national parks or famous party towns like New Orleans, it is still a beautiful place to visit. There are countless historical landmarks and places, like Elvis Presley’s birthplace in Tupelo. There are also museums, lighthouses, gardens, and beaches. Did you know that Jackson, Mississippi, even hosts the USA International Ballet Competition? Mississippi is also incredibly RV-friendly, with plenty of campgrounds and interesting Harvest Hosts locations that make RV camping in Mississippi an adventure. 1. Gulf Coast Gator Ranch

Did someone say gators? The deep south is infamous for it’s network of swamps that are home to the American Alligator. Gulf Coast Gator Ranch is one of the more unique and natural Harvest Host locations we have. This 105-acre alligator farm offers walking tours and boat tours of the property. You can even hand-feed some of the alligators if you’re feeling brave! This Harvest Hosts location is located in Moss Point, Mississippi. They have two pet-friendly spaces available for RVs of any size, and they offer WiFi. The best way to patron this Host is to purchase a tour or stop by their gift shop.

2. Fort Bayou Brewing Company

This brewpub and microbrewery is a local favorite in St. Martin, Mississippi. They serve all types of beer and cocktails to suit any palate in their Cypress Taphouse. Their Head Brewer has been brewing beer since 1990 in California, Washington D.C., and even England. They have indoor and outdoor seating available, as well as a gazebo overlooking a koi pond. Talk about relaxing after a long day of travel! Nothing pairs better with beer than food, of course. The taphouse offers an extensive menu and even some weekend specials. Insider sources at Harvest Hosts have revealed that their shrimp and grits are some of the best!This Harvest Hosts location offers 7 pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size, as well as WiFi. Please note that they are only open from Wednesday through Sunday each week. If Fort Bayou Brewing Company isn’t open, Harvest Hosts Members are still welcomed to stay. As a thank-you for the overnight accommodations, members can purchase a gift card from the business to use for a future visit (gift cards would also make a great gift for any fellow RVers in your life!).

3. Patch of Heaven Farms

Patch of Heaven Farms is appropriately named for the tranquil experience that many Harvest Hosts members have enjoyed here. Members have been treated to bountiful stars at night, a serene pond teeming with fish, and lovely animals to interact with. The entire family is incredibly welcoming and love giving tours of their little slice of heaven. Talk about Southern Hospitality! Members can expect to meet cows, pigs, chickens, and their fluffy family of golden retrievers. Patch of Heaven Farms prides themselves on a holistic and natural approach to everything they raise, from the tiniest seed to the largest cow. This Harvest Hosts location offers three reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs up to forty-four feet in length. They are located in Raymond, Mississippi. Harvest Hosts Members are able to patronize this business by purchasing organic produce, true free-range eggs, or other products from their generous store.

4. Sandy Run Farm and Nursery

Sandy Run Farm offers some of the freshest produce around. This local favorite in Purvis, Mississippi always has folks excited for their seasonal offerings. In the summer, visitors can expect blueberries, peaches, blackberries, and persimmons. In October, they host their annual pumpkin patch experience, along with other fun fall activities. Don’t miss this serene, yet fun Harvest Hosts experience.This location has three reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size. Visiting outside of the season? Sandy Run Farm offers a small selection of jams, jellies, and frozen fruit for Harvest Host Members to purchase.

5. A Stroka Gene-Us Alpacas

This bustling farm is a great family-friendly stop, and it is also perfect for those who just love animals. They have eighteen alpacas, one llama, many chickens, two mini donkeys, ducks, and three Great White Pyrenees to guard all the livestock. Guests frequently interact with the animals, making this stop one-of-a-kind.This Harvest Hosts location has four reservable spaces for RVs of any size, and offers water and electric hookups for an additional charge. Members can patron A Stroka Gene-Us Alpacas by making purchases in their shop, such as alpaca socks, soaps, yarn, stuffed toys, and more.

6. R&R Vineyard

This newer Harvest Hosts location is, excitingly enough, the first bunch grape vineyard in Mississippi. They offer sixteen different varietals of wine, including a few fruit wines, to please any palate. While you’re there, be sure to peruse Ruth’s personal art gallery. This host is located in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi. They have three reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size, and the best way to patronize this business is by purchasing wine either for yourself, or as a gift for others.

7. BB King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center

Any blues or just plain music fans won’t want to miss this unique Harvest Hosts location. First opened in 2008, this museum features exhibits, artifacts, films, and stories to learn more about the world-renowned BB King. Many of the exhibits also shine light on the impoverished area in which he grew up. This Harvest Hosts location has two reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs under forty-four feet in length. Please note that this is a seasonal museum. Occasionally, Harvest Host Members are able to stay, even when the museum isn’t operating. Be sure to either make a donation or make a purchase in the museum's online shop in exchange for your overnight stay.
