Here at Harvest Hosts, we pride ourselves in offering RVers unique, safe, and convenient RV camping locations. But, that's not all we have to offer. Do you know what else is super convenient?
Being able to offset ANY additional costs that you as van-lifers and RVers may incur just from hitting the open road---we're talking about gas, items purchased at a Harvest Host site, or even our membership fee!
And how can you do this??
Well, if you're into travel, there's a fantastic travel credit card called the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card that is currently boasting an increased, limited-time welcome offer of 75,000 bonus points if you sign up and meet the spending requirement. 🤯 Signup today to ensure you get the full 75,000 bonus points before this offer expires June 13th at 2:00pm CST!
But if you're gung-ho on full-time van life, you might wonder what the heck these points could possibly do for you...
My friends---the best part about those 75,000 bonus points is that they can actually be worth at least $750 if you redeem them for cash back through the Chase portal.
There are many ways to redeem these Chase Ultimate Rewards points. You could transfer your points to airline and hotel partners for significant value. But if you are dead-set on traveling with your van, redeem your points for cashback. You can use it for anything at any time.
Let's look at how you'll do this. We promise it's a straightforward process.
1. Login to your online Chase Ultimate Rewards account
From your rewards homepage, you should see a tab labeled Convert to cash, then Cash back. Select the Cash back option.
2. Figure out how many points you want to redeem for cash back
It's important to know that redeeming your points for cash back comes at a value of 1 cent per point. Fortunately, there's no minimum redemption required!
3. Choose between receiving a statement credit or an account deposit
We'd recommend you select the Redeem for a statement credit option as this credit will be applied directly to the card which you're redeeming points from.
You should see these credits post to your account within three business days, and when they do, your total balance will be reduced based on how many points you chose to redeem for cash back.
For instance, if you had a $23 purchase on your credit card statement for a couple bottles of wine that you bought during your most recent Harvest Hosts stay, you could simply redeem 2,300 Chase Ultimate Rewards points and not pay the $23 in the end 🤗
Using this "cash back for a statement credit" option is a great way to help reduce your travel (and other!) costs as you make your way from one fantastic Harvest Hosts location to the next.
However... 😏
If you want to take it to the next level while you're already inside the Chase portal, you can also squeeze 25% more value out of your Chase points by booking other travel via the portal!
When booking a wide variety of travel in this way, your Chase points will hold a value of 1.25 cents per point!
Back into the portal we go... 💃
1. Navigate to the Travel tab from your homepage menu
2. From there, select what type of travel you're interested in (e.g. flight, hotel, etc.) and when you want to go
3. Browse travel options and find a great deal
Here's an example of a flight on Delta going from New York to Iceland. You could pay $557 for this flight or you could use 44,528 of your Chase points to book it and not pay a dime.
With some simple math ($557 divided by 44,528 points), we can confirm that you're getting 1.25 cents per point.
