Upgrading your RV''s Mattress

For many RV owners, making adjustments and upgrades to their RV interior is all part of the fun. There are so many interior components that one could modify, ranging from the internal TVs to elements of the kitchen, bathroom changes, and so much more. One popular upgrade that RV owners like to make is to their mattress. Unfortunately, many older RVs contain uncomfortable spring mattresses, and even newer RVs may not have a mattress that best fits the RV owner’s preferences. The best solution to these issues is to upgrade your mattress to one that best fits your needs and lifestyle.Upgrading your RV's mattress can vastly improve your sleep quality while road tripping.

Why you should upgrade your RV mattress

Upgrading your mattress is beneficial for so many reasons. First of all, it allows RV owners to select a mattress that is best for them. This in turn can lead to a better night’s sleep and thus, better adventures on vacation. In addition, upgrades can increase the RV’s resale value and add to overall increased comfort while on the road. Finally, in used RVs, it’s a great idea to replace your mattress simply because you may want to start fresh. Your old mattress could be old, dirty, or simply worn, and upgrading it allows you to hit the reset button. For all of these reasons and more, upgrading or swapping out your RV’s mattress is an overall excellent idea.Once you have decided to select a new mattress for your RV, you may be unsure of where to begin. There are many options and potential choices, but you must keep in mind that RV mattresses do not typically come in standard mattress sizes. RV mattresses are typically a bit shorter in width or length or both to accommodate smaller spaces and leave room for extra floor space in the interior layout. Therefore, one cannot simply purchase any mattress and install it in their RV, as it will likely not fit. However, there are many excellent mattress options for RV owners to choose from. We have outlined some of our favorites below.

Denver Mattress

Denver mattresses are a favorite in many traditional homes, but many people don’t know that the company actually sells an entire line of RV mattresses, as well. These mattresses provide superior comfort and are made of luxurious, plant-based materials. Their foams are made entirely of natural substances and aim to invoke a sense of restful, healthy sleep. Their RV line has three choices of mattresses. The first choice is the Rest Easy Plush RV Mattress. This mattress is only six inches in height, allowing it to fit into tight spaces, but still offering the same level of comfort as a taller mattress. This is the least expensive of Denver’s three RV mattresses. The RV Supreme Euro Top Mattress is Denver’s mid-tier RV mattress. This option offers eleven inches of cushion for maximum comfort with a two inch pillow topper built in. This mattress comes at a reasonable price while still offering all the comforts of mattresses found in traditional homes. The highest tier RV Luxe Mattress is Denver’s best seller. Its pocketed coil system offers extra support, while reducing motion transfer for those prone to extra movement in their sleep. Finally, it combines comfortable and breathable materials to give you a nice cool, comfortable night’s sleep, even in your home away from home. Denver RV Mattresses are comfortable, high quality, and come with a variety of choices in a variety of sizes. Be sure to check out their websitefor pricing, shipping details, and additional information. Denver Mattresses are some of the best options out there.

Comfort Zone

Comfort Zone mattresses are another excellent choice for RV owners. They come in three height sizes: eight inches, ten inches and twelve inches. Each of these is great for a variety of sleep and comfort needs. All three mattresses feature both a comfort layer and a support layer, with a moisture-wicking cover for those who tend to sleep warm. They are available in a variety of RV sizes at a reasonable price point through the Camping World website and at Camping World locations across the country.

Sleep Number

Sleep Number Mattresses offer the unique option to set two sides of the same bed to entirely different settings. This allows bed partners with different mattress needs to sleep comfortably in the same bed without having to compromise on their preferences. Many consider Sleep Number Mattresses to be some of the best mattresses on the market, but most people are unaware that the company actually makes two varieties of RV mattresses, too. The first is the the nine-inch Comfortaire r3 mattress, which offers five zones of support and customization. The second option is the ten-inch Comfortaire r5 mattress Comfortaire r5 mattress, which offers seven zones of pressure support. Both mattresses have a twenty-five year warranty and are available through a variety of online retailers. Sleep Number Beds are available for both RVs and traditional homes.

AB Lifestyles

AB Lifestyles is a lead name in mattresses for traditional homes. They also sell an excellent line of RV mattresses. Out of all of the leading mattress companies, AB offers the biggest selection for RVs, with ten options to choose from. These include heights of five inches, seven inches, nine inches, and eleven inches, in both memory foam and pocketed coil varieties. These are available at a reasonable price and can be purchased on the store’s website.

MotorHome InnerSpace

Those looking for comfortable, yet budget-friendly mattresses should look no further than the MotorHome InnerSpace Travel line. These mattresses are available in a variety of sizes at different price points. The first is 5.5 inches in height and offers gently-cushioned support for a good night's sleep. The next is choice is seven inches in height and offers excellent pressure support in five different zones. The final choice is eight inches in height and is comprised of both memory foam and polyurethane foam. It comes with a washable cover, and many consider it to be the most comfortable of the three options. Each of these mattresses is available on the Camping World website or in some of their retail locations across the country. While RV mattresses come in different sizes than those found in traditional homes, those looking to upgrade can still find a variety of quality choices and options on the market. Any of these five brands comes highly recommended by other travelers and is sure to provide campers with a restful night’s sleep after a long day of exploring and hiking.
