The campsite is a large open grassy area surrounded by trees with 30 amp electric and water available. It's located about three miles from the Traxler (404) exit for I-75 with about a mile of unpaved graded country road to the site. The interstate is about a quarter mile away as the crow flies, so traffic noise will be heard, especially at night. The campsite is surrounded by tall oak trees, so falling acorns as well as squirrels, birds and other critters will be seen and heard. The campsite has plenty of shade in the morning and lots of sun in the afternoon. Just a word of caution, poison ivy grows in the woods and fire ant beds are around as well. There are deer in the woods, so there is always a chance of ticks. This being a rural area, gunfire will be heard during hunting season and neighbors sometimes target practice as well. The campsite is fairly level, but has a bit of a slope, so it isn't perfectly level. There is a 30 amp outlet at the campsite but it is located about 250 feet from the breaker box so some larger rigs may draw so much current that the voltage will drop and set off their watch dog voltage protector. Some guests with larger rigs have to turn everything else off in order to run the AC. We recently added a picnic table to the campsite for our guests to use. As the name implies, the campsite is secluded, surrounded by woods and the property is near the end of a dead end dirt road with very little traffic. You can walk along the dirt road under a canopy of trees without fear of being run over. If you're looking for peace and solitude surrounded by nature, then this is it. Suggested Local Attractions: About 7 miles from historic downtown High Springs. About 25 miles from University of Florida in Gainesville. Not far from the Santa Fe river and a number of springs that are popular for swimming, floating and kayaking.

Location
Access Road Conditions: The last mile to the site is a fairly narrow unpaved country road with a couple of sharp turns. There may be washouts and mud after a heavy rain. Most of the time the road is in good condition and easy to use, but it can be dusty after a dry spell. There are trees overhanging the road so tall rigs should use caution. The gate at the entrance to the driveway is 13 feet wide, but it may be a little tight for some long rigs. You'll need to swing wide as you drive through the gate. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is plenty of room to park a tow vehicle next to the rig.

This is a very private stay with plenty of room! The fire ring and picnic table were nice additions. The host was friendly and kept to himself mostly. He told us about several springs nearby. I went canoeing at Ichetucknee Springs State Park and had a blast, very worth it! Ticks are in this area, check yourself and pets!

We had a great stay. First of all, the communication before arriving was impeccable. They really wanted to make sure we could find their spot and provided clear directions and a map. The spot where we parked was flat with easy access to water and power. The picnic table and fire pit were nice to have, as well. The host was really nice and came to greet us in the morning. Very laid back regarding arrival/departure times. We were visiting some springs / state parks in the area and this spot was in a perfect location to easily visit 6 springs within 24 hours (which we did!). Overall, wonderful spot and hospitable host. Would stay here again if in the area. Highly recommend Lovely place for my first ever night with Boondockers Welcome - definetly felt welcome.

This has become our go to HH site when we head up I75. Love the wooded, country setting and the availability of electricity is a huge plus. We had the privilege of meeting and visiting with Ron this visit. We appreciate Ron's generosity in sharing his bit of paradise with us.
