I live on a short acre of property abutting the Conway Drain. Notus has been here since the 20's. It is a small farming community that has turned into a bedroom community for Caldwell, Nampa and Boise. It is a pretty quiet little town and there is now not much in the way of stores or shopping, but there are stores either side of us in Parma and Caldwell within 10 miles each way. It's just a little town kind of in the middle of farmland. Suggested Local Attractions:The town where I live has a small museum that is open mostly at 4th of July and Memorial Weekend. Caldwell, Idaho is near and has many events through the year as well as a historic downtown area and beautiful renovation of the Indian Creek area. There are many farms, and south of here are many vineyards with stores. Orchards and farms are all around here, and there is also Boise about 35 miles west of here with lots of stuff to do. There is a great military museum in Nampa about 18 miles away with great shopping as well.

House Rules
No marijuana use. Moderate drinking is allowed, but no loud parties please. Regular tobacco may be used with cautions as to disposal. This is a quiet area, and so I prefer not to have loud animals so as to not disturb the neighbors. Children are welcome but must be supervised. If they get loud it will upset the neighbors and I will have to revise my requirements. I would like to know when you will arrive and leave so the I can help you with crossing the well at the entrance. If you are using a tow vehicle, I will give you instructions as to how to avoid the well area. If you hook up to power I would need 5 dollars paid in advance. That would cover the water as well. I have no RV dump, so water would be just for filling your potable water.
Location
Access Road Conditions: I have private alley access to my backlot. It is narrow but very negotiable. However, there is a well to cross at the entry, and it needs to be traversed with supervision. There is room for more rigs, but it is a little uneven and it is not totally open area. However there is plenty of room. I have had a 35 foot 5th wheel live here, and I owned a 27 ft pull trailer as well as a 24 ft class A and a 19 ft Class C. I just sold my 25 ft pull trailer. I prefer not to have any large Class A's. It would be problematic to negotiate as they are higher. 5th wheels, especially the newer models are very tall and the pull through area might be interesting due to a large cottonwood I have. However there is room to come in, and do a 3 point turnaround. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is lots of room to turn around and park extra vehicles near your camper or motorhome, and if you have 2 rigs in your party I might consider this as well depending on the type.

I like quiet spaces and small towns. Details: I am an ex trucker of almost 40 years and also drove school bus for about 10 years. I love my family and friends, and belong to a church in a nearby community. I just downsized from a large pull trailer to a van and I love camping, hunting, and quiet reflections at the campfire. I used to have horses but had to let them go, so am more able to get away as much as possible to go atv'ing, and fishing. Home Town: I've lived in Southwest Idaho for over 25 years about 1/2 way between Ontario, Oregon and Boise, Idaho off a main highway. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Anywhere high in the mountains and near high mountain lakes and streams, actually anywhere with lots of trees and water. Skills or Expertise to Share: Don't know everything, but I will offer to help if I see that I might have something to offer.

Ann, although she had recently suffered medical issue she made sure we were parked comfortably. Great 30amp power, good water, however limited cellular and no wifi but still a good place to stay.

Ann was extremely helpful when we arrived. It was a tight squeeze initially to get into her backyard but with her help it went smoothly. we spent a while talking with her which was so nice. We appreciate the stay.

What a fantastic 3-night stay we had at Anne's Backyard Retreat! First of all, Anne is a very special person. We loved talking with her and sharing together. She met us on the road and guided us in through the alley onto her property. Second, her backyard location is large, private, secure, and quiet. We had such great sleeps! There isn't much to do around Notus, but the quaint hometown feel was heavenly. We would highly recommend Anne's Backyard Retreat. Thank you for such a wonderful place to stay, Anne!

Anne was very communicative about directions, meet me to show me where to park, her backyard was huge and I was able to turn around and park right next to the 30 amp (the switch stays on all the time - backyard light) and got setup. She's super sweet, I felt comfortable, and would love to stay again when in her area.
