We cannot accept tow trailers there is a tight entrance turn Welcome to our hideaway in Bayfield! Please feel to park anywhere in the clearing. Either on the grass or wood chips is fine. Move the picnic table wherever you want as well. NO CAMPFIRES You will notice a camera in a birdhouse on a pine tree to the east of the campsite. That was installed because we were told some kids were using the lot when we weren't around. We do not monitor the camera, but feel free to position yourselves to be out of view if you wish. As any responsible dog owner is aware you must pick up after your pet and we ask they not be a "barky" dog - we have neighbours and many other dogs walking Enjoy our downtown, restaurants and parks while you are here!.
Location
Access Road Conditions: Site is a grass clearing in a pine and cedar bush. Room to drive in and complete full circular turn to leave without any backing up. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: We cannot accept tow trailers as there is a tight entrance turn. Room for smaller rigs to turn around. We can accommodate truck campers, larger class B and C and small class A. Our entrance into the spot is a across a small ditch and we have discovered most tow trailers are unable to navigate the turn.

We have always enjoyed dry camping on family and friends properties and now looking forward to expanding our boondocking experience and sharing our site. Details: Started remote camping in the 70's with a 2 man Eureka and a 16' tripper canoe. Over the years evolved to larger tents and canoes and eventually to our Roadtrek Zion. We have always enjoy getting away from the beaten path and dry camping. We now live in Bayfield, ON and own an adjacent 1 acre treed lot that is open to boondockers. Our lot is within walking distance of beaches, restaurants and bars. It is a quiet and private retreat. Home Town: Bayfield, Ontario Favorite Boondocking Locations: Small villages, country lots and forests. Skills or Expertise to Share: Electronics, handyman and lots of boondocking experience

We spent two lovely and peaceful nights at Bayfield retreat. Our parking space, an all grass empty lot, merits more than 5 stars. It looked like your dream natural campground site. The giant trees surrounding us provided a nice shade and privacy, and we had access to a clean picnic table. Our generous and kind hosts were discret, yet present enough to give us useful information on places to see and resources to get repairs done on our RV. We loved Bayfield and its parks, beaches, harbour, little shops and restaurants, all in walking or biking distance. All this beauty seems to reflect on its residents as we found people to be quite friendly and serene there. It felt like happiness really lives in Bayfield. We very highly recommend.

Quiet little nook hidden in trees with so much privacy. Perfect location for walking all over town, marina-pier and beach. Close enough to walk to restaurants but far enough away to have quiet. A repeat visit for sure. xo

We appreciated staying in this spot and the picnic table. Quiet, large spot. We felt very safe here. We had difficulties finding it as the sign was far back and covered with leaves. Fortunate that a neighbour told as where. We highly recommend this host.

This was our first time at a Harvest Host site. We stayed at Bayfield retreat on July 16, 2022. What a great spot in the town of Bayfield! We were within walking distance from downtown and yet we felt like we were in the country. The property was completely surrounded by trees and bushes which allowed us great privacy in the middle of the town. Our very lovely host, Margaret, greeted us and gave us a good lay of the town and where to eat and shop. She did not steer us wrong. The town was walkable and had several good restaurants, very nice shops and, of course, had a couple of really good ice cream shops. If we go through this area again, we will definately try tro reserve this place.
