House Rules

The most thoughtful guests I have hosted do the following: 1. Take ten minutes to read all of this profile and study all three photographs to avoid confusion on arrival about routes to parking, where to park, where power is, etc. 2. Provide an ETA the day of arrival and either arrive +/- an hour or so of that ETA or send an update. (Sorry but I am a retired O-6 and former fighter pilot.) 3. Gift Dana if electricity is used. See description for the definition of "Dana." 4. Clean up after themselves. Which means leave no trace. Please do not leave any trash or debris or MOOP ("Matter Out Of Place") anywhere, including in any receptacles you see as they are not emptied regularly. 4. Keep dogs on leashes (I have a large yellow cat, Henry, who is often outside and you are in his territory. He tolerates humans well enough, and even surprisingly likes most of us. But dogs scare him because he thinks they are coyotes or otherwise out to get him.) 5. Don't try to impress me with their stories from the road. I've been everywhere & done about all there is to do in terms of worldly experiences--including killing my fellow human beings in armed combat. So chances are I'm not all that awed over your conference at Serenbe or whatever. I love you not for what you have done or may yet do, but for what I know you to be. Everything else is idle chatter and chasing the wind. 6. Emaho!

The area is nice and the owner, although never seen in person, communicated well in HH. The spot behind the barn was "sketchy" for a truck pulling a 24 Ft travel trailer. I "think" I could have made a loop to turn around, but was unsure. The grass was also very high and I didn't want ants in my truck or trailer. It's a tight squeeze between the barn and the drop-off to drive a large rig through. I would not try it. Also, if we had been in a drought, the tall grass could have started a ground fire from truck exhaust system - be careful. I ended up parking on the hill across from the main house. That was flat enough and plenty of room to back into. Overall, it worked out.

Great place to stay on our way to Atlanta. Did not see host but he was very responsive with text and explained as to where we couls park. Very private, level area by the stand alone garage. Plenty of area to turn around for our 36 foot toyhauler. Definitely a great place to stay while traveling through.
