We are in a quiet neighborhood in outer southeast Portland. We are near a school. Many families live here and kids play in the street. We sleep in and stay up late. Pretty much impossible to text too late, but don't be surprised if no-one responds to the door or a text in the morning. Suggested Local Attractions:We are close to the bus so you can pop downtown for $5/day. Saturday Market, the 'food trucks', Voodoo doughnut, people-watching, Powell's "city of books", views of Mount Hood, a stroll along the river, bicycle rentals to take the trails, lot's of fun stuff! (Sort of like a slightly slower paced, less expensive Seattle or San Francisco. LOL)

Amy and Hawthorne Details: I'm a Unitarian Universalist minister. Hawthorne is a rental manager. Our son (and family) live with us in Portland. Hosts, we would be particularly grateful for wifi. (Our Sprint connectivity doesn't always work.) We live overseas most of the year and like to travel when we are in states. SO grateful that we have the opportunity to see the country and experience different communities in our sweet little portable home. Home Town: Portland Oregon. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We travel where my preaching schedule takes us. Usually to warm places in winter and green places in spring-summer-fall, throughout the West... And we are imagining a trip East at some point. We are particularly grateful for space in LA which is near Thorne's godmother. Skills or Expertise to Share: Thorne is an amazing researcher - can figure anything out. I offer spiritual accompaniment (see http://amybeltaine.info)

Host very communicative and flexible when we requested to stay longer at this spot. She kindly provided an electric hookup for us as well! Easy to get to the city with a car from this location.

The host was very pleasant. Accommodated me with shady, quiet on-street parking as the driveway was busy with family visitors. Worked out well. Thank you!

We had a great little just-passing-through stay with Abeltaine (don’t you hate calling people by their HANDLE!). So very kind, and accommodating! Thanks so much. Highly recommend!

Amy and her son Corry were taking so much care of us-it was incredible! Even though Amy was not inland Corry took over the organization and did it with so much care. He offered us a lot of help and even picked us up from Portland when we were underestimating the public transportation to return home. Also we forgot our hats in his car and angel Corry just brought it to us to Portland. We had very nice conversations. The neighborhood was very quiet and so the whole Boondocking experience was just Great! Thank you so much for everything and please contact us when you come visit Montréal:) Take care, Patrycja & Patrick and daughters Sophia and Camille

Amy & Thorne were incredibly nice and fun people! I had a wonderful visit in my little trailer while my tow unit was being serviced, and I will not forget their hospitality. Just a great first experience with Boondockers Welcome! Thanks, you two!
