Suggested Local Attractions:Northwest Trek Wildlife Park 11.5 miles, 20 minutes http://www.nwtrek.org/ A superb program and park with indigenous wildlife, on 500 plus acres donated to Metro Parks Tacoma. Something there for all ages. Mt. Rainier National Park 47 miles to Longmire via west entrance, 1 hour 15 minutes http://www.nps.gov/mora/index.htm I worked the summer of 2012 on the mountain, rebuilding sections of Stevens Canyon Road. This was a great location for our day trip to Mt. Rainier. The hosts were terrific! We so appreciated their advice about the area and felt most welcomed. Thank you Big Trees!

This is a perfect overnight stay as we were traveling through Washington. We were even able to take it vantage of water and electric hook ups, and our dog was able to roam off leash, since the property is fenced in. These hosts are one of the original hosts to the Boondockers Welcome and they exemplified with the program it’s meant to be about - hospitality, and a safe place to stay as we travel. Thank you!

We had a great time at Big Trees! The host's were incredibly welcoming, and the location was a great home-base for visiting Mount Rainier NP and Seattle. They were gracious enough to help us with suggestions for activities in the city, and we had a nice time chatting. This site was just what we needed, and we can't recommend it enough!
