Do not send messages asking about availability. Our calendar is kept up to date. We will only accept stays two weeks out and only if you send an actual request via “Request to Stay”. We have 12 wooded acres of waterfront property on the Downeast Coast of Maine. RVs can be parked on our lower driveway with a view of the bay (through the trees) or next to our barn. Both spots are level and very quiet. Suggested Local Attractions:We are located on the Schoodic Peninsula, just a few miles from the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor and the main section of Acadia National Park are about an hour away. We are just a couple of miles off of US 1, so we are a great stopping point for folks heading up the coast to New Brunswick and/or Nova Scotia. Calais and the border crossing to Canada are less than 2 hours away. We are hosts simply because we enjoy meeting fellow RVers. We do not expect or want compensation of any type so please do not leave us gifts. Knowing you enjoyed your stay is more than enough. If you absolutely feel you need to do something, leave us a good review.

House Rules

No travel trailers or fifth wheels longer than 21’ - there is limited space to turn around at the bottom of the drive way. Please drIve slow and avoid spinning your wheels as it damages the driveway. No smoking on property. Pets need to be on leash and must be cleaned up after. Quiet hours (including no generators) after 9pm. We have a female german shepherd. She is very people friendly, but does not always like other dogs. She definitely does not like cats.

Location

Access Road Conditions: There is limited room at the bottom of the driveway. A motor home of less than 30’ will have no issues but travel trailers or fifth wheels longer than 21’ will not be able to turn around. Note: Please validate the actual length of your rig with a tape measure. Our driveway is 1/4 mile long. It is gravel, curvy and quite steep- downhill to the house, uphill to get out. While the road can be bumpy, it is completely accessible by any type of vehicle as long as there is no snow or ice on the ground. We ask that you drive slowly up and down and avoid spinning tires, especially when going up hill as it damages the driveway. There are overhead trees and powerlines along the driveway. Our 12’ 6”tall RV clears just fine, but a very tall motorhome might have an issue. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is room to park a tow vehicle next to the RV. Our only requirement is that it not block our vehicles from getting out of the garage and up the driveway. There is lots of room, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Wonderful stay at Binnshire after visiting Schoodic Park. We enjoyed watching the deer out our window in the morning and walking to the nearby bay. We really appreciate the great directions to Binnshire as well as local information provided by the host.

Great communication by host. They greeted us when we arrived to make sure we knew where to park and made recommendations for enjoying their beautiful waterfront property. Super convenient location when visiting Acadia NP and The Schoodic Peninsula side of the park.
