We are about 1/4 mile from Heartland State Trail, which connects to Paul Bunyan Trail. If you have a boat, we are close to the boat launch on beautiful Leech Lake. The town of Walker has some fun shops to browse in, as well as a brewery and some good resturaunts. If you prefer wineries, you can check out Forest Edge Winery in nearby Laporte. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Deedee. She was collecting fresh laid eggs. She gifted us a dozen eggs. Her husband, Ted, came over and we all had a nice talk about our travels and theirs. As we are from Arizona, we were interested in what they liked about it as it is their favorite place to Boondock. This is a great location to explore all the parks, forests and lakes. We stayed 5 nights and had FHUs! Of course, we compensated them for this luxury. They were not home when we left, so we didn't get to say goodbye. We recommend staying here if you are in the area.

We have a large rig, and it fit nicely. Full hooks ups and gravel pad was a bonus! Welcoming hosts in a quiet setting :) Would stay again if travels bring us this way :)
