Welcome to the wilderness! Our working hay farm included 77 acres of land of which around 40 are woods. Situated in NorthEast Central Minnesota, we have bears, coyotes, porcupines, sandhill cranes, deer, and the sound of distant wolves. We are very secluded, on a dead end road, so very little traffic. We are 1 hour south of Duluth, near to Banning State Park, and 1 hour east of Mille Lacs Native American reservation. We live on site with children and pets. There is one electrical hookup by request and an outside well water faucet. Large communal fire pit. If you would like to share a vegan meal with us please let us know and pay what you can.

House Rules

There is an electric hookup for one RV only by request, $10 per night. There is Starlink Wifi dependent on your proximity to the house. You are more than welcome to use it if you can pick it up. Most people park by the barn and access it perfectly. Animals and children welcome. We also have cats and children so dogs should not be chasing them. Dogs can be off-leash during the day but there are wild animals at night so they should be watched after dusk. It is a hay farm so be mindful of fire hazards. Rigs should ideally be parked near to one of the barns which have electricity and lighting.

Location

The access road is a dirt road, well-maintained and fine for all vehicles except during the winter, then trucks recommended. When the weather is muddy you must check where to park up because it’s a field and you will get stuck. In good weather most of the area is fine and you can choose more or less where to park, but please check in advance. We can accommodate any size of rig although it is a tight turn into the drive. 40 foot rigs have navigated it several times. Longer than that may struggle unless you can unhook.

We set up a farm here in 2022. It's very remote here, incredibly peaceful. This is a place to unwind and reconnect with nature and ALL it brings. There is a great bar/restaurant and convenience store a few miles away and the stunning trails of Banning State Park. About us: We are area a freedom-loving, family with teenage kids, well travelled and well read. We would like to welcome good people to share in our space and adventures while we turn it into something special.

Little tight going through gate with 45' rig but made it safely. Very nice and quite. Parked on beautiful level grass. Great host family.

Robin greeted me as I drove into the driveway. He walked me over his extensive property and allowed me to pick my spot. I opted for a boondocking spot with no hoo kups and loved it. Nice sunrise and sunset as well as I saw a focx, coyote, and saw 11 Sandhill Cranes one morning. Nice hiking trails also.

We stayed here in a 45ft 5th wheel. It was a little tight entering the property but we had no issues. Grassy area to park; no pad. The location is beautiful. The host is very friendly and accommodating. We did not use water or electric but it was available. Nice big field for our dogs to play. Several State parks nearby for hikes. We would stay here again.

Elect pole was too far away to use our 50 Amp plug so we had to use an extension cord for 20 amps, but it keep blowing at the pole. The host was very nice and said he would be buying a 50 extension cord for future guest. We had to park right next to the barn and I felt it would be nice if the host could control the tall weeds/grass around the barn better. It's a beautiful area. The host are very nice and helpful. You will access the property on a dirt road. The town has a population of only 87 so their are no stores. The host will give you a wi fi link, but we had nothing without it. Couldn't even make a phone call. It was a peaceful stay.
