Paved reasonably flat driveway, next to or in front of the shed. Please use boards or feet under jacks if it's hot out, to not leave holes in the soft asphalt. 15A circuit in shed is available. Bigger rigs need to borrow the neighbor's driveway to get in & out, careful of the grass as much as possible. If you're not comfortable and skilled backing up, this may not be for you. Toads will need to disconnect to get turned around. Smaller rigs can go various places in the yard if desired if the ground is not real wet, by the garden, near the shed and still reach a 15A 120v outlet. Close access to a 5mph fishing lake, canoe & rowboat available. Can fill water with good normal well water through the water softener, spigot in the garage and we have hoses to reach where you'd be parked. The hose you might find laying in the yard is for the garden, probably not for drinking. Suggested Local Attractions:Hartland is a cute small historic town. Library (open 6 days/wk), small museum (limited hours), junk/antique shop, music hall. It's pretty around here generally, there are numerous parks, hiking, lakes, and cute slightly larger towns, all within 10 miles or so. In spring/summer/fall, the dirt backroads here are great for biking. Anything you may need shopping (Miejer, Target, Walmart, hardware, autoparts) is all within 3 miles. Other local towns (Milford, Fenton, Howell, Brighton) have cute downtowns with breweries, shopping, parks. Further away there is the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, a good day trip.

House Rules

Bring your dog! Dogs on leash near the house unless they're well behaved. Neighbors have a small dog who may offer a chase or come running over, and many other critters offer chase. Other neighbor has a large dog with invisible fence who is not good with other dogs. If your dog won't run off, there is a field and marsh by the lake to play in and explore off leash. Swim in the lake or the pond, but the mud is not so clean.... Our dog Blue would love to play, and he's good with any size friendly dog. They can be off leash fo playing if you trust your dog to not take off. Clean up after pets on the grass please. No worries In the tall grass or the field, go for it! Watch out for ticks in the tall grass; plenty of deer around, and lyme disease can change your life. No generators please. Please try to manage with the 15a 120v shed outlet, but it's fine to use as much as you want during the day. The house is mostly off-grid, powered by solar and batteries which are pretty much unlimited when it's sunny.

Location

Access Road Conditions: I say 'any' size but, but... There is an odd arrangement part-way down our driveway, with a pair of trees on the left & right. With a van or medium motorhome or small trailer, fine to just drive in and turn around. May need to go on the grass to stay centered between the trees, and that's ok if it's dry out, summer or fall. Turning around at the house may take a little back and forth. A medium or larger trailer, or longer wheelbase bus/rv, recommend you use our neighbor's loop driveway to turn around and back down straight to the shed area. Pull counterclockwise around the large pine tree in the circle loop, and toward the neighbor's yellow house. Then back down straight south on the extra driveway spur to the front of the white shed. If you're not comfortable backing up, this is not for you. Careful of the neighbor's grass. Leaving is easiest to go straight up the extra spur driveway, and out the neighbors drive, to the left of the big pine tree. The access road has some trees over the road, watch for them, but there's plenty of room width-wise. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Couple of paved driveway areas

The Kleins at Bullard Lake Details: We took a year off in 2015/2016 and did a loop around the US. Here's our blog from the trip: http://intothetransporter.blogspot.com Before that some winter rv camping in Michigan, a test trip out to S.Dakota/Wyoming. We like to stay on the back roads instead of interstates, more to see and take our time. Now we're back home for a bit and doing some trips during the summers. Soon, kids will be away and we might travel more. Home Town: Hartland, MI Favorite Boondocking Locations: Buffalo Gap National Grassland Baja Vehicle use area, SD BLM east of Holtville, CA Black Rock Desert, NV Wreck Cove, Cape Breton NS Skills or Expertise to Share: Automotive engineer, I enjoy debugging and fixing most anything, or at least I don't give up quick. Host were so very kind and friendly, helping us get hooked up and work on a bike rack problem. It was great to have water and electric. We were able to walk and see the property and gardens. We were given some fresh corn from the garden. Blue was very good with our small dogs. Directions and communication were great. A great place to stay and we highly reccomend!

Such friendly hosts, he stayed up to help us get settled in when we arrived at 10:00 pm. The free electricity was very helpful to run our small AC unit since it was still warm out.
