I am in rural Hernando County, Florida. I have the ability to handle RV's up to 30' long. I am near world famous Weeki Wachee Springs, Tarpon Springs, Silver Springs and only an hour from Tampa or Orlando. I have full hookup on a designated rv site. I am sorry but no Class A's or 5th wheels over 30'. The County Road can be a little noisy during the day especially on the weekend. This is a popular area for on road bikers and motorcycles. However the evenings and nighttime are more peaceful. Suggested Local Attractions: Weeki Wachee Springs, Homosassa Springs, Chinsegut Hill, and other small places of interest. There are biking and hiking trails nearby as well. Other attractions near me are Tarpon Springs, Honeymoon Island and beaches to the South.

Location
Access Road Conditions: I am 7 miles West of I-75. The site is located on 3 acres of property. There is paved access onto our property from a well maintained county road. The pad is gravel and level. There are oak trees but they should not be a problem. There is a hill that blocks the view of our drive coming from the East. Once you crest the hill look to your left (South) for a black fence and orange cone. Use 25626 Powell Road for GPS purposes (My neighbors address). Please do not go to the Neff Lake address. I am 1 mile West of Springlake Highway on the South side of road. Look for a black fence and a orange cone on your left if coming from East (South side). I HIGHLY Recommend that Everyone especially Travel Trailers come in from the East. It can be a little tricky to turn in with longer rigs. There is a 12' gate to enter through. I will be happy to provide more detailed directions. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: If you have a vehicle in tow you will have to unhook it. You have to back onto the site up a slight incline. There is plenty of space so you can park next to your rig.

Friendly retiree. Details: Pat passed away in August of 2020 but I will continue welcoming guests to our home. Pat and I had a long history having attended kindergarten together in New Smyrna Beach, FL where we grew up. We became a couple after our 40th high school class reunion in 2003. We got into rving about 12 years ago and tried to get on the road several times a year. It could be a few days or a few weeks. We are pet friendly and enjoy meeting new people. Pat liked reading and gardening and I like woodworking. Home Town: Pat and I both grew up in New Smyrna Beach, FL on the state's East Coast. I am a third generation Floridian and Pat had lived in Florida all but a few months. She lived for many years in Naples, FL and I in the Tampa area. We moved to Brooksville in 2009. Favorite Boondocking Locations: I travel mostly in the Southern states from Florida to Texas and North to Tennessee and the Carolinas. Skills or Expertise to Share: I am a handyman type and love woodworking.

Host is very welcoming, met us at the driveway entrance and guided us to the parking spot. Located on a slight incline, but the gravel pad is leveled. Nice firepit and bench area right outside your rv! It’s situated alongside a road so expect some traffic noise. Host has created a beautiful fenced in yard that includes a gazebo near a pond with fish that he feeds every evening. We stayed 3 nights so we could travel to the Tampa RV Show (40-50 minute drive) and also we wanted to check out the Brooksville area for possibly settling there at some point.

John was an excellent host and his site was more than what we expected. We enjoyed talking with John and sharing RV stories. We would be happy to return to this location when we visit FL.

We stayed at Camp Neff Lake for three nights. What a great stop! John was very responsive to our texts. He met us at the gate and guided us to the site, which was level and had full hook-ups! The property is beautiful, and we enjoyed our conversations with John sitting on the deck at his pond. If you are not familiar with this area, John, being a native Floridian, can tell you about Brooksville and the entire state of Florida. He’s a wealth of knowledge and an A+ host. We’ll be back next time we’re in the area. We highly recommend this stop!
