If towing a travel trailer you might not be able to navigate the driveway. Please consider this before requesting a reservation as I may have to turn you down. Please look at photos of driveway. We are new to RVing, had our ups and downs. The worst being a stolen catalytic converter that we have not been able to replace so stuck for now. We are a senior couple and travel with our 21 pound Terrier. Prefer the hook ups but can manage off "the grid" just fine. We are from the Sacramento area so convienient north or south, east and west in California. WE are also a host, we own Camp Watanda on a 15 acre lake.

Camp Watanda was such a unique and lovely quiet location. We had a spot right by the dock although the lake in November was seasonally empty there were views and lots of bird life and pretty fall colors! We enjoyed our camp spot and there is so much to see and do in the Yuba river area. Yes, the road there is windy but we had no issue getting in with our 25 ft RV. Much thanks for the stay and excellent communication from the host!

I enjoyed one incredibly beautiful evening at Camp Watanda back in April, and I feel a bit sheepish leaving this review so many months later, but somehow I failed to submit it during my travels. Which is a shame, because this is one seriously dreamy Harvest Host. It was like staying at my own, vacant summer camp! My dog was able to wander and swim freely, as we had the entire place to ourselves. We spent the entire afternoon exploring and photographing the grounds, which reminded me of my own summer camp days as a kid. Such a little pocket of beauty in the mountains. I even made a few casts with my fishing pole in the private lake. We enjoyed a beautiful evening under the stars surrounded by wildlife, including plenty of ducks and geese. My host was super communicative even though we arrived a bit off-season (though the weather was primo!). The WiFi connection near the main residence was a great bonus, as Verizon cell service was non-existent in the area.

This property is a wedge type piece of property on a lake with a frw ot her camps around the small lake. There re lots of trees so its nearly impossible to see all but one camp. And that camp portion is only visited by the kids when its lake time. It appears this camp is not a working kids camp anymore. You can hear your children playing at a distance but it is by no means a bother. This property rents what looks like open air cabins so something between a tent and a cabin. I’ve met a few nice folks, but overall on my three day visit, I saw almost no one. There is no cell service here so please keep that in mind if that’s important. My Starlink did work however. I will definitely be back as a Nevada City is near and dear to my heart. My grandparents have lived there since the mid-80s and I have visited multiple times a year sin ce they passed in 2021. Now I have a reason and excitement to come back.

We had a great stay at the camp. The lake was nice and cool. The frogs were singing at night and the geese were honking. The owner communicated very timely.

such a great place to boondock w/ this system. it was the off-season so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. they were letting water out of the lake so it was quite low but the geese found it to be a great stopover. we enjoyed watching them flying over and landing on the water in large flocks. it took a few lego's to level our rig but it was no big deal.
