We have 4 sites with full 50 amp/30 amp hookups (water & electric) (one site has one of the dump sites also) and 6 dry boondocking sites (however we can run electric cords to most of those locations also and water to some.) The full hookup sites will be by our house with 50amp/30 amp service and water and 2 dump sites are also available. The full hookup sites are on a first come first serve basis. The sites will be approx. 400 ft. off State Hwy 8 South, 4 miles south of Interstate 30 (Exit 201), approximately 20 miles west of Texarkana, Texas. We prefer that no alcohol or tobacco is used outside of the R.V. because of health reasons (smoke allergies). Pets are welcome and we have a fenced yard they are welcome to run in. Gravel road to grass sites. We are able to accommodate large RV's ( even 45 ft.) with no problems (even with towed vehicles). What a wonderful stay we had here! Ginny and her husband were a delight, we enjoyed our time visiting with them, and I love the idea of the guest book they have that everybody signs and she inserts a picture. Such a fun treat. Our stay was so very peaceful, we had beautiful weather, and met another couple that are part of Harvest Hosts as well. we will definitely stop again if we’re in the area.

We stayed at Candy Cane Corral on April 5th while on our way to see the total eclipse. We have a 39’ Class A w/toad and while the access is easy when you arrive, wait for Ginny to come out to meet and direct you! (I pulled in a little to far and didn’t leave enough room to make the swing into our spot without disconnecting our car.) After setting up Ginny showed us around her beautiful gardens and introduced us to Perry who was working on the outdoor Kandy Kane Kitchen. What a labor of love for the benefit of BW members! The next morning, we were gifted, along with a few other guests, with time spent with Ginny and Perry showing up their “village” set up in their house and then introducing us to Georgia, Ginny’s mom who had just turned 100! After signing the guest book and having our picture taken, we sadly said see you later. If you ever get a chance to stay there, you’ll understand why they are a Hall of Fame Host for Boondockers Welcome! Hope to return next year.

Ginny and Perry were great hosts, they have a wonderful little stop, it’s very quiet and relaxing. Ginny is a go getter from the time you arrive she is directing everyone where to park, while being welcoming and offering her assistance. I hope I have her energy at that age. Perry was out and about doing some repairs on the well. These two were so inviting and engaging, that’s what makes this stop so enjoyable. If we are traveling through this area again we will definitely make this a stop, and you should to.

Ginny was so accommodating and kind and obviously they really enjoy community and meeting new people. everything was fantastic and it’s amazing what they are building and creating for the people that come stay with them. only reason parking is a 4 star is where I was parked could become a problem if it rains and you don’t have 4x4. It stormed bad the days I was there, so probably not as much of an issue under more normal circumstances.
