Location
Access Road Conditions: SORRY, BUT WE CAN'T ACCOMODATE ANY CLASS A RV'S. Everything paved all the way to and on our property. We're on a short, dead end street off of a fairly major 2 lane road. I should mention that for pull through parking it will be in the loop to the front side of the home. I have fresh water and 120 VAC, 15 A available there. To the rear of the home behind our attached garage and next to my detached garage is a huge level concrete area. IT IS NOT A PULL THROUGH SPOT. In that area I have 120 VAC, 30A (TT-30R) and also 120VAC, 15A. There's also a tap that supplies our fantastic well water nearby. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: No problem in that we have 12,000 sq ft of asphalt driveway area within our 2.5 acre property. So there's no need to even consider using the street.

Ken is a retired VP of Eng (Mech. Eng), Jerilyn is a retired CalTrans Civil Eng. Details: Jerilyn has been very active in her retirement since the end of 2015. She is keeping busy with music (hand bell choir), club newsletter editor, cooking, sewing, quilting, walking, bicycling, snow skiing and more. Jerilyn retired from the Caltrans highway dept. after 32+ years as a registered civil engineering manager dealing with traffic issues in the 6 western counties in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ken is finally, actually, formally retired. He retired Feb 2015, where he spent the previous 25 years of his career as the V.P. of Engineering in a Semiconductor equipment manufacturing company. He then was on retainer/ consulted for a number of years with his former company in the SF Bay Area. His interests are bicycling, photography, anything automotive, snow skiing, traveling and too much more to list, and wonders how he ever had time to work a full schedule plus some. He keeps busy most days with projects around the 2.5 acres, working on hobbies and helping neighbors with various projects. Home Town: Gardnerville, NV. Our home is situated in the beautiful Carson Valley which is nestled up to the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada Range. Jobs Peak is the dominant view from our property and towers 6000 feet above us. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Anywhere in the west. Specifically northern CA., along Hwy. 395 beside the eastern side of the Sierra. Love the Alabama Hills area above Lone Pine in the spring/ early summer. Boondocked for close to 2 weeks again in southern Utah in April 2021. Been there, and northern AZ and NM and Colorado multiple times. In July 2021 explored the northern route of the US to Minnesota and back. Skills or Expertise to Share: Ken is handy with many activities including auto / truck mechanics, plumbing, electrical, machining, computers, repairing most anything, etc. Jerilyn is multi talented with music, sewing, quilting, cooking, and technical enough to put up with Ken's engineering oriented explanations now and again.

Hosts were great with communication and have tons of local knowledge. I planned my sightseeing based on their info. Definitely look at all the info they send ahead of time. It was great to know where the free dump station was at Maverick in Carson City. Ken even helped me with a little camper project.

Ken was prompt responding to my stay request, which I so appreciate! He created a perfect BDW site, a level paved area behind his house with water and power nearby. And wait till you see his drop box file for us! It has everything you could possibly need or want. Thank you so much Ken for your hospitality!

I would say that Ken and Jerilyn are the ultimate hosts (the epitome of what a Harvest Host should be) and their accommodations are the tops. They are both so friendly and helpful. Along with providing beneficial info in a dropbox about them, the area, and how to get there (we were coming in the dark so he provided a direction video), Ken also printed out a topo hiking map for us which I thought was so over the top helpful. The scenery is unexpectedly very scenic, beautiful, colorful (especially now) and peaceful. The location is nice (relatively close to Kirkwood, Carson Pass, Heavenly/Tahoe, Markleeville, and Gardnerville w/Walmart is a few minute drive) and NV fuel is much cheaper than CA so fill up. They have a large concrete pad and power hookup (& internet) which makes RV life very comfortable (comforts of home) in any weather. I would not hesitate to recommend them as great hosts and their location as ideal.

Ken was very kind in accommodating us with short notice. He is very knowledgeable about the area and its history, and suggested places to go in nearby Genoa to visit. The overnight location is excellent. Easy to access in a class B, with electric and water.
