If you want to stay at a quiet place near Jim Thorpe this is a perfect place to stay. Quiet street. Perfect size for our Navion. Delicious honey too.

We enjoyed our time at Castaway Farm. We stayed 3 nights. We got to visit a bit with Destiny, who has a great big heart for animals. The area is quiet and a short drive to Jim Thorpe downtown area. We enjoyed a couple of restaurants there. (Molly McGuires is pet friendly.) Destiny said our generator did not bother her at all which was appreciated, as I needed to catch up some work. And Falkor was a treat....what a massive, friendly doggie. We fell in love with him. Hope to see Destiny again one day...either in PA or FL.

The Host is responsive to questions and a good communicator, so reach out if you need to. When turning off the main road, go slowly, there are a couple of quick turns. Understand you are within a couple minutes of arriving at Castaway Farm. Our Host greeted us as we were pulling down the road and showed us where to park. The parking area is flat and the neighborhood is quiet at night. There is no power available at this time. Once we got setup, we chatted with our Host about the area and we got some great suggestions. We headed out to enjoy this historic and quaint little community of Jim Thorpe, nestled in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, aka, “Little Switzerland of America.” Popular attractions downtown are restaurants, shops, the train ride and tour bus. The weather was humid and rainy but there was a reprieve long enough for a good walk downtown and on the well maintained Delaware & Lehigh (D & L) Rail Trail. Back at the farm, the Host is so easy going and can talk about anything. Her dog is well behaved, the goats are so cute and lovable and obey voice commands most of the time. Many thanks to the Host for approving to our request, we hope she visit us in NH someday!

We had a great overnight here. Unexpected snow hit and Destiny gave us a great recommendation for a place to eat. Jim Thorpe is a beautifully quaint town- worth a stop!
