Rv'ers for 10 years now, we tend to travel the secondary and back country roads in Canada and the US in search of adventure. Our favorite destinations are right here on Vancouver Island, found by traveling down forestry roads to hidden lakes and streams. Our one acre property is located about 10 minutes both from downtown Duncan and from 2 large bays on the ocean. The scenic Cowichan River runs from Lake Cowichan to Cowichan Bay offering swimming, kayaking, migratory salmon viewing and fishing. The area attracts many hikers and mountain bikers to the many trails nearby. For our francophone guests: "Ici on parle Français".

Preston and Cathy were amazing and very accommodating. They have a charming property in Duncan. We arrived after dark, Preston greeted us with a flash light on the main road - otherwise we would have passed the entrance. He helped us to park at the perfect spot. When we were leaving in the morning Cathy gave us grapes that they have freshly picked. We hope to meet them again someday.

Although our hosts were away travelling 😀 their sons assisted us in all aspects of our stay. We had a lovely parking spot, very quite and restful. We had a great stay, many thanks. A great spot to rest up and see some of the beautiful sights.

We arrived at Cathy and Preston's and we immediately felt very welcome. After we set up I had to call a local mechanic as my brakes were making a noise. I booked the truck in for the next morning and Kathy and Preston said it was OK to stay a second night, we had only book one night. We got the truck fixed the next day and spent a second night. Cathy gave us a few fresh eggs from their chickens for breakfast, they were great. After two nights at this wonderful spot they let us stay until the afternoon so we could float down the Cowachin River. Cathy and Preston are super Hosts and very accommodating. Thank you for your hospitality.

Enjoyed the lovely garden where we stayed. Although our stay was very brief, we had a lovely little tour of the garden and received helpful suggestions for our future travels.
