There is a playground a km away in Mapleleaf park. We are 5 minutes away from Millbrook which is a small town with groceries, a bakery, gift stores, a post office, drug store and 4th Line Theatre - an outdoor theatre. retired, outdoor enthusiasts Details: My husband and I are retired. We love to spend lots of time outdoors - hiking, biking, canoeing, birdwatching. We just bought a little camping trailer and are excited to travel across Canada and the US exploring new places and meeting new people. We live outside of Peterborough, Ontario in a small rural subdivision. Home Town: Cavan, Ontario - a tiny little intersection about 1 km away from highway 115 - the main artery from Peterborough to the 401. You could almost miss Cavan if you blink when driving by. Favorite Boondocking Locations: None yet...this is all new to us. We hope to hike the Bruce Trail in Ontario and stay in boondocking locations along the way. Skills or Expertise to Share: Scott is a very knowledgeable naturalist and birdwatcher. Beth knows some of this too...lol. Beth enjoys reading, playing the piano, and lots of art activities. She speaks French well enough to help you with any questions you might have. We both love to spend a lot of time outdoors - hiking, cycling, canoeing etc. and we can give lots of suggestions about places to hike, bike, canoe, camp and go birdwatching in and around our area, and further afield. We are very interested in climate change and environmental issues - we keep learning new ways to reduce our carbon footprint, and reduce the overall impact of our lifestyle on the environment. We have started buying carbon offsets from the highly rated carbon offset provider - www.less.ca - to offset the impact of our travel.

Scott & Beth live in a quit neighborhood and let you stay on their driveway. On one side a beautiful tree and the other side the lawn. You may use the electricity and fill your waterbottles/tanks. Beth and Scott are interested in their guests and enjoy getting to know each other. There were fireflies in their backyard:) The highway is nearby, so you're quickly on your way again to your next destination, but you don't hear the noice of it.

Beth and Scott offered us the perfect spot to park our rig overnight. They are the nicest, most accomodating hosts, and are everything you'd ever hope to find on the Boondockers app. Beautiful area for walking the dog, and among all the trees and birds you forget you're not in a provincial park.
