Location
Access Road Conditions: 1.25 graded dirt road off US Highway. Can be washboard at times, just take it slow. My driveway is steep but asphalt. A while back an older gas powered Class A gas powered could not make it up the driveway. I make it up with my Class C (V10 gas Ford) with my CR-V in tow and over 100 guests have not had a problem (Class A-B-C, bumper pulls, and fifth wheels). Once at my home room to park and turn around but not with a toad hooked on. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Next to rig.

Retired software engineer with strong intrest in Astrophotography Details: From SoCal and retired to the dark skies of SW New Mexico in 2008. I have a class C that I take to Idaho each summer. My house is on 10 acres which keeps me busy year round! When I can I ride my BMW R1200RT which is my other love. If we have a good night I will setup a telescope for viewing, all you have to do is twist my little finger ;-) Home Town: Silver City, NM --- 80 miles North of Mexico (you can see mountains in Mexico from our front yard) and 25 miles East of the AZ border (you can see Mt Graham in AZ some 90 miles East of us). Favorite Boondocking Locations: National Forrest, BLM Skills or Expertise to Share: As an engineer I like to do my own maintenance on my CR-V (toad), Coachman RV, and my motorcycle. Have a small shop and large garage where I house my toys (MH, motorcycle, UTV, ...). My 10 acres keep me busy year round.

My golden and I stayed two nights here. Very quiet and comfortable. Bob was very gracious in his hospitality and telling me about the area. Close to Silver City, biking and hiking. Did I mention the views? Drive is steep, but the top is level for parking. I had no issues with a Transit.

we stayed 3 nights. if you like hiking there are plenty of places to go around here. Host is very nice and informative. The host wasn’t kidding about how steep the driveway is, we made it but we are towing a 24’ camper. the scenery is magnificent where we were parked. We would stay again if in this area.

Bob is a wonderful host. He responded immediately to my request. Upon arriving, he helped me get positioned in the parking spot and then gave me the quick tour of the landmarks, pointing out the mountain ranges that surround the property and view. After dark, Bob shared his powerful telescope pointing out the stars in the night sky. Nicely located just 4 miles from Silver City. I highly recommend Bob's place and will stay again if in the area.

Prompt and frequent communication, plus tips on what to see & do on my way there. No problem finding the place. Host was there to help me park, site was level and view could not be beat! The plugin was much appreciated, as it was cold that night, and it enabled use of my electric heater.

I had a wonderful stay at CdV on the hill. Bob was accessible and communicative from my first message and met me on arrival to show me a lovely flat spot to park. He offered wonderful ideas about the area. Most enchanting of all was stargazing with Bob! He opened his observatory one evening and showed me the universe! It was exquisite – a life-changing experience for which I am most grateful to Bob. What an unexpected boondocking bonus!
