This is a great spot to park if you want to visit the city of Chicago located about 25 minutes East. Directly across the street there is a green open space . Half a block down is The Prairie Path, a wonderful bike and walking path. You can easily drive into the City and find fairly inexpensive parking thru the Spot Hero app or take the train from my house, 22 minutes into the City. Whole Foods, Chase Bank, Kohl's and Portillo's eatery, just to name a few, are across Route 83 - walkable or a quick drive. I love my location because I am close to Chicago to the East, the North Shore of Chicago to the North, the Fox River to the West and Palos for hiking and mountain biking to the South. All within about half an hour from my house. If you see blocked dates on the calendar, please do not request those dates because they are not available Suggested Local Attractions:Chicago!

House Rules

Because this is a neighborhood, it is imperative that guests are quiet and respectful in order for me to continue hosting Boondockers per the Village's municipal codes. Consider this a quiet, safe spot to park overnight and to respectfully come and go to your rig. Unfortunately, a family who stayed here created chaos, disturbing neighbors and the neighborhood, hence we must be very mindful not to disturb neighbors in any way, otherwise the Village won't let me host anymore. Water is available to fill up. There is an RV dumping spot at the next Village's water treatment department, 7 minutes away at the Addison Water Treatment Plant located at 249 South Villa Avenue Addison, Illinois, USA, 60101- Open Monday - Friday until 2:30pm.

Location

Access Road Conditions: Motorhomes and Trailers will park on the street in front of my house. Because of the municipal code rules for street parking, we must comply. 1. Motorhomes - can disconnect their toad and leave the Motorhome on the street during the day. At night the toad must be parked right behind the Motorhome as if it is attached; no need to hassle with attaching if you are staying more than one night. Just make it look attached due to the restrictions wherein Motorhomes and Trailers with tow vehicles, when parked overnight, must be attached with no slide outs in use. 2. Trailers - Cannot disconnect their tow vehicle and leave only the trailer or fifth wheel on the street, unfortunately, even during the day. Thus, this Boondocking location is good for Trailers which just need an overnight spot without disconnecting their vehicle. The roads are flat in Chicagoland. When driving on some neighborhood streets in spring, summer and fall, there are some tree branches to avoid by driving in the middle of the street. This will not occur driving to or from my house. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Motorhomes can disconnect their tow vehicle, Trailers and fifth wheels cannot. See comments in Access and Road Conditions below.

Patrice was a treat and a great host. Access to the city is pretty easy with the Metra. Elmhurst itself looks like it has some nice attractions. Parking was easy and I was able to park completely off the street. Thanks again to Patrice!

"Host provided incredibly friendly and detailed guidance, making me feel as comfortable and secure as if I were in my hometown. I've spent a pleasant and safe night here, and if I ever find myself back in this area, I would definitely want to come here again. Thank you very much for everything."

We recently visited our daughter in Chicago and needed a convenient overnight location near the city. This was our first BW stay and it was just what we needed. The host was quick with communication. She gave clear directions on where to park and made us feel welcome. It is a quiet street with a great walking path nearby to walk our dogs. We would happily stay again. We’re off to a great start as new BW members!
