House Rules
If you have pets, please pick up after them if they do their business in the parking area. There is an area in one of our fields where we don't require picking up (please ask us where). We use the water tap for the garden, etc. So it's available for filling your RV tank but not to directly connect to the tap. Please do not run generators after 11 pm or before 9 am. We love the peace and quiet of the country and hope you will enjoy it too (please, no loud radios, etc. at any time) We have set the fee for electricity to $2 assuming no AC running for many hours. If it is very hot or you have a pet and need AC on continuously please increase electricity payments to $5 as a minimum. If you have a pet, please discuss with us where to walk your pet on our property. We have a medium size dog, Sunny, who loves people but is afraid of other dogs and he will react strongly if he sees or hears them. Sunny came to us as a rescue from the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic. He was 6 months old and should have attended puppy classes to learn socializing, etc. But as we all know, the pandemic began at that time and there were no classes available. All of us have been fairly isolated from others which has also not been helpful. So we need to keep Sunny apart from any pets that you may have. We can discuss this when you arrive.
Location
Access Road Conditions: Paved main road (it is a regional road so it is well travelled) and our paved driveway. The road is busy at times but RV parking (and our home) is well back from road (about 300 ft). Traffic is quieter on weekends and very quiet overnight. There are no immediate residential neighbours although there are two small office buildings, one on either side of our 6 acres. These buildings are not visible from where you park due to trees. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Please park your rig roughly over the painted green P on the circular driveway around the tall blue spruce tree in front of the barn. Please note that we deliberately leave on a light inside the workshop to discourage small animals from taking up residence in our workshop/barn. This is near the area where you will be parked. If the light is bothersome, please let us know and we can turn it off during your stay.

Great place to stop and chill for 3 nights. Close to Ottawa and the surrounding area has lots to offer. Wayne gave us great info on area and a must visit in Carp is the Cheshire Cat Pub! We had a wondeful experience.

I really needed an overnight and shorten my drive, and this was perfect. Although they were not there at the property, their communication was stellar. This was my first BW and they were very kind in letting me stay even though I hadn’t established references. They provided electric and water. They are well off the main road, so traffic noise was not an issue. I would definitely stop again if I’m passing by Ottawa! Thank you!!

Had a great stay at this location. Easy access from the highway and a good place to visit Ottawa when ready. Road is a we bit noisy and space is well marked. Quite a few mosquitos as it was well treed and when were there it was thundering and rain so a perfect time for the flying things. Not really a place to sit out but hosts were helpful and we would stay again.

I stayed here the last 3 nights on my own with my young sons and we felt safe and had a great stay. There is a little road noise but it didn't interrupt our stay in any way and the drive is quite long so you're way off the road. It's a lovely property. The communication was excellent and the hosts are friendly and welcoming. Easy to find and the parking is great. The turning circle is easy to get around and level, with enough room for our slide outs. The electric is right there off the barn and we were grateful to fill up with the water tap from the side of the house before we left which was perfect. I could get into the city quite easily, it took us about half an hour. We used the Eagleson Park and Ride as we couldn't park the RV in the city, we then got the bus to the train line, and it's just downstairs on the stop and only 2 stops via train to the war museum, we then walked the city where we wanted to go and then did train and bus back - very straight forward. War museum and Canadian History Museums are outstanding. Highly recommend and their Wi-Fi is super fast - many thanks!

Our hosts, Donna and Wayne are wonderful people, fan of camping and very welcoming. The roundabout in front of the work shed makes it easy to park and easy to go out at the end. We had a wonderful time although not long enough and will definitely go back if the opportunity presents itself. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant!
