Howard and Cathy as of December 2017 have become full time RVers Details: Cathy and Howard have been full time RV’s since 2015. We are retired (sometimes still work on the farm) snowbirds and love travel. We look forward to meeting fellow RVer's in order to gain experiences of others and an insight into the Pros and Cons of RV life. Cathy has enjoyed working as a Probation & Parole Officer and currently as a part time personal support worker . Howard is retired from Dofasco and retired as Auxiliary Inspector Ontario Provincial Police. We love to ride our Spider motorcycle. Howard has had in the past a Harley and a Goldwing bike. I saw the spider and said "whoopee" I need to get a motorcycle licence too. I turned 60 and got my spider bike. Howard got a Jeep. So that's how we travel. Our RV pulls the Jeep and I ride the bike. During our Covid-19 winter travel to British Columbia we stopped in Cochrane Ontario, and bought a cottage on a whim. Now we spend May-Oct in Cochrane Ontario. Home Town: At one time we were Southern Ontario Folks, now we are Northern Ontario Folks. We live 15 minutes from the town of Cochrane Ontario. In Cochrane there is the Polar Bear Express train, and the original Tim Horton’s hockey arena as Tim Horton grew up in Cochrane. There are lakes and rivers all around us for fishing. Wed and Thurs there are farmers markets in town. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We love country spots. Farms, fields and under trees. We have boondocked at Walmart, Cracker Barrel and Bass Pro Shops when traveling. We enjoy Florida for a couple of months in the winter. Our plan is to travel from one side of Canada to the other, then explore the United States. We have motorcycled through to Newfoundland, HWY # 1, down the Mississippi and the Blue Ridge Mountains. We love Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Host. We have stayed at great places and have had great people stay with us from all over the world, including France and Switzerland last summer. Our plan is to do lots more boondocking this year. Skills or Expertise to Share: Howard can drive all kinds of trucks, tractors and lawnmowers . He can back almost anything into tight spots so if you need his help, just ask. Pets We have 2 Yorkers, and once a year have puppies, Cathy still loves her babies.

Absolutely lovely location with amazing hosts! We very much appreciated the sharing of RV knowledge. The tour around the property and time shared. A great place to stay!

Cathy was such a friendly and generous host! I arrived late at the end of a long day, and she had an extension cord ready for me to plug in. Her property was perfect for my dogs to run and play. I enjoyed exploring the nearby river and taking the trail through her backyard forest to the lakefront, where there is a lovely beach and dock. I wish I could have stayed there all day, but I had to keep driving. She offered me some delicious cucumbers from her garden, and we had a nice morning chat over breakfast on the deck. She went above and beyond to make me feel at home and make the first night of my trip a memorable one. Unfortunately Howard wasn’t home so I didn’t get to meet him. I would absolutely stop again if I am ever in the area!

Cathy welcomed us while waiting for her hubby’s return!! Perfect spot, quiet. It is about 30 minutes on gravel road… No potholes and minimal washboards…. But if you are coming to stay prior to boarding the Polar Bear Express, the rail way allows you to park there. We had to get up and leave early to make the train. Would have liked to spend more time with our hosts.

They were fantastic hosts! They offered me power, wifi, even coffee in the morning. They chatted with me and were interested in hearing my story and they were wonderful with my daughter as well. Highly recommend!
