host Profile

Hosted By Country Space

Age:

65+

Over 75 and retired but farm yard work and bookkeeping keep me busy. Details: We are a Christian family. The farm we live on has been in the family since 1880. My son lives in the original farmhouse (across the road) and runs the farm. He is also your host when I am gone. There is lots of open space, in a beautiful setting. Watch the sun rise or set or perhaps see the moon rising. You can park wherever you like: near the trees if you want shade, on the grass, if that is more to your liking, and some of that is even in the shade, or maybe you would prefer to be on the gravel. There is room for your pets to roam. We have a fire pit in our back yard that we would be willing to share (providing we have had rain). There is a house next door, but not too close and also houses across the road, but it is all our property. Have done some traveling and hope to do more. Have enjoyed meeting and visiting with other RV'ers who chose to Boondock here. We are close to hiking and biking trails; lakes and rivers for boating, canoeing, kayaking or fishing. Winter activities also abound. Groups are welcome to come and stay. I can host more than 5 RV's, but would not have electric and water hookups for everyone. You are also welcome to an extended stay if you'd like to visit the attractions in our area. If your "pets" are horses they too are welcome at our place. Home Town: Elk Mound, WI Favorite Boondocking Locations: At our friends and relatives! Hoping to get to stay at other Boondockers Welcome hosts in the near future, especially some whom have stayed here. Skills or Expertise to Share: As this is a working farm that has a large shop where we fix all our equipment we can usually be of some help in the area of mechanics. Maybe some one could teach me more computer skills.

You will not find a better host than Eileen. Eileen is ready to help you with your needs. She is such a kind woman. She showed me a great little gem close by with amazing views of Elk Mound, Eau Claire, and Menomonie called Elk Mound Castle Lookout. I learn so much about the area because she is so knowledgeable about the area. She accompanied to a nearby a couple nearby Amish stores and hooked me up with a sweet neighbor with fresh eggs. When I come to Wisconsin, she is a must stay! Thank you so much for a awesome stay. Book with her. You will not go wring!

My army retired husband and I became tired of missing our family, so we decided to try out full time RV living. We last minute downloaded Harvest Host and decided to give it a try. We found Country Space to be inviting since our toyhauler is pretty big and we wanted the regular amenities. I contacted the host Eileen and she responded right away with insight on everything. Once we arrived Eileen was so welcoming asking about us and at the same time getting the electric cord for us to set up. She also showed us the water connection and gave us the option to dump at the lagoon the next day. The property is beautiful with the autumn colors. Our pooches were allowed to run arround and loved being able to run free. We still made sure they obeyed. So blessed that we found Eileen's home and we plan to return. Make sure any suggestions she gives you, try it out. She suggested to check out the Kwik Trip food mart. We were so impressed with the food prices and quality. Over all wonderful experience for our fist time using Boondockers Welcome.

We stayed for one night. The locaion was easy to access from the highway 29, a nice driveway with ample space to park. The host was extremely friendly. We slept like champs and had great service.

Harvest host was VERY NICE and informative. Had a lot of extra materials for you to look at regarding Wisconsin etc. Had electric hookup which was a big bonus for us.
