We are long time (40 years +) weekend and vacation RV’ers having had trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes. Danny is retired from the Southern California Edison Co. (1996) and current owner and president of RTS Technical Services. Sherry is a retired California teacher and now a Behavior Therapist (BCBA). We relocated from our home in the Sequoia National Monument, Camp Nelson, California to Kerrville in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas in 2016. We live a few miles off Interstate 10 (7.8 miles, 18 Minutes). Presently we have a 35’ 2020 Thor ACE 33.1 motorhome. Our location is a great base for scenic drives through the Hill Country. Fredericksburg, TX is approximately 29 miles from our location and is home to popular attractions like the National Museum of the Pacific War, Texas Wine Country, award-winning shopping, and Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Fredericksburg is also the birthplace of Admiral Chester Nimitz, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet during World War II. Bandera, TX is known as the Cowboy Capital of the World. Enjoy year-round cowboy fun at area dude ranches, Saturday afternoon "gunfights", nightly music, big skies, and friendly folks. We are approximately 1 hour to San Antonio where you can visit the Alamo, River Walk, Tower of the Americas, and other historic sites. Austin (The capitol city of Texas) is a little over 2 hours away.

House Rules

Enjoy your stay and don’t be afraid to knock on our door if you need anything. We are family and dog friendly. Keep dogs on leash. All ages of children are welcome. We expect you to keep a close eye on your children. Check-in is practically anytime, but please kindly arrive prior to 8:00 PM. Please let us know the approximate time of your arrival as we sometimes go to town to shop, grab something to eat, go to the bank, etc. If you want to partake in the service, we have full hookups so running your generator is probably not necessary but if you must, observe quiet hours between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Our hookups consist of 50 amp electricity, water and sewer. The hookups are in our motorhome garage, approximately 20 feet from the garage door so you will probably need extensions for it all to reach. We can possibly help with that. We have a 15 foot 50 amp extension and of course, water hoses and extra sewer hoses. Speaking of dogs, we have 2 small dogs (a Schipperke [Sparkle] and a Chiweenie [Gidget]). Our back yard is completely fenced in so if your dogs and ours get along, yours are permitted to use the back yard also. Be careful opening the gate as our Chiweenie is fast, is a sneak and runs away. It isn’t long before she comes back so it isn’t that big of a deal except this location is in a sub-division, so we don’t want her to run into the street.

Location

Parking is in front of our garage on concrete out 30 feet and then crushed gravel from the concrete to the street. The concrete is 41 feet wide so plenty of room for 3 vehicles, parked side to side. If you are going to use the electricity or sewer, you will have to back in.

We are long time (40 years +) weekend and vacation RV’ers having had trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes. Danny is retired from the Southern California Edison Co. We relocated from our home in the Sequoia National Monument, Camp Nelson, California to Kerrville in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas in 2016. We live a few miles off Interstate 10. Presently we have a 35’ 2020 Thor ACE 33.1 motorhome. Pretty much every year we go on an extended vacation visiting most states west of the Mississippi River. Now that we are located in Texas, we plan on visiting other states east of the Mississippi River. Our favorite long weekend destination is Port Aransas, Texas. We have, and usually travel with 2 small dogs. Usually, it is just the 2 of us but this year, we are hosting a foreign exchange student from Finland. Over the years (Mostly when our 5 children were young), we have hosted 19 foreign exchange students. Annika, our present student, is the daughter of our second student we hosted. We are also long time Motorcycle riders and GWRRA (GoldWing Road Riders Association) life time members since 1978 with over 50 years of riding experience and over 500,000 safe motorcycle miles traveled. We were hosts and users of the, now defunct, Motorcycle Travel Network where traveling motorcyclists contacted host members and stayed at the host’s homes. Similar to BoonDockers Welcome and kind of like Airbnb.

The driveway is cement and level. Danny and Sherry are great hosts. It was nice to have Bill's BBQ lunch with them and get to know them. Would definitely stay again.

The host was there to meet me and help get me set up. He provided an extension cord so I would have power. We had a nice visit and shared travel stories. The location was level, and easy to back in. It was a quiet night. I would stay here again with these gracious hosts.
