We live in a HOA community that's still kinda country. It's a bit hilly, but paved all the way to our driveway. We don't have a lot of space, but will share what we have. Just the driveway near a 20A plug in the garage and a water spigot. It won't be entirely level but my propane fridge works in the driveway when I need it. There are some encroaching trees so a Class A won'l work here. I have a gas grill you can use and we'll get you HOA passes for the beaches. Suggested Local Attractions:Calvert Marine Museum, Ann Marie Sculpture Gardens, Solomons Island Boardwalk, UMES Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, Calvert Cliffs State Park for fossil hunting.

Retired and enjoying life Details: We live on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay near Solomons Island, MD. There are lots of interesting historical, geologic and recreational opporunities here and nearby. From visiting museums to deep sea fishing to archeaology and fine and casual dining, it's great to live here. We have museums like Jefferson-Patterson Park and Calvert Marine Museum for archaeology and history of the watermen of Chesapeake Bay. We're celebrating the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 this year with lots of special events. There is the Naval Air Museum just outside the gate at Patuxent River Naval Air Station We have all of the usual chain stores and restaurants withing 10 miles. WalMart, Target, Lowes, BJ's Wholesale, Kohl's and more for shopping plus the NEX at Pax River NAS, with a commissary and gym, bowling alley and all the other things you'd find at a military base. Our community has 2 beaches on the Bay and a freshwater lake with a beach, too. You'll be welcome to use them while you're here. We are both retired and enjoy traveling around visiting interesting places and catching up with friends and relatives across this beautiful land. We volunteer in our county parks and on the Maryland Dove at Historic St Marys City. We might have a singalong by a campfire if the weather is nice. Home Town: Chesapeake Ranch Estates in Lusby MD was originally a vacation/retirement village but is now a bedroom community for DC and NAS Pax River and other commuters. It is a HOA with some restrictions. But it has many benefits like being mostly still fairly wooded with a lake and bay beaches and a private airport. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We like the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, Maine, West Virginia, Forest Service campgrounds, Nova Scotia, and anywhere there are forests, mountains and water. My other half likes oceans and beaches so we go to North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, too. Oh, and the Gulf Coast. Loved Big Bend, TX. We often hunt for hot springs and have found many good ones across the country. Skills or Expertise to Share: Photography, woodworking, basic electrical, ham radio(KB3RAN). Cooking and eating are not necessarily skills but I do have expertise with both!! And now adding autoharp and singing to my talents.

Dave is a great host and we enjoyed our stay. Dave does comment in his site description that his driveway is sloped. Yes, it has a pretty good slope to it. I have about legoblock type levelers, and Dave let me borrow some he had. Still, I was nose up a bit in my Roadtrek van. So bring plenty of levelers.

This was our favorite stay on our trip. The hosts were super friendly and took us on a walk to a private beach past wooded trails and rolling hills in their community.

Contacted Dave and he got right back to us.Easy to find. Dave and his wife were very helpful in giving us information about the area. We would definitely stay here again and hope he comes and visits us on his Route 17 tour next year.
