Great views and plenty of sunshine. Short drive to local wineries, U-Picks, boating and fishing on the Columbia, hiking and biking. Also just down the road from the Mammoth dig site. Great view of the Tri-cities and Badger Mountain without the hassle and traffic of being in the cities. Light pollution is pretty low so clear skies for viewing the stars. Suggested Local Attractions: - On or near Hanford Site (B-Reactor Tour, Ligo Facility Tour, Titian Fin Tour) - The Mammoth dig site - Local Wineries - Badge Mountain Hiking trail. Candy Mountain Hiking Trail - Lots of U-Picks in the area when in season - Within 3-4 hours of Seattle and Portland

Camp Fire: Ask before lighting any open fires, there are usually burn bans during the summer months. I will provide a fire ring that can be used when there is not a fire ban. Location

Access Road Conditions: If coming from the southwest side of Clodfelter Rd and turning onto the property it maybe to tight of a turn to get into the driveway so you may need to turn around. The round about by the house is a bit too tight for turning around trailers and Class A's, but ok for trucks and smaller vehicles. The front yard is wide open and available for turning around your rig. Otherwise no trees to navigate

Family oriented RVer, we enjoy the road together and checking out new places with our 5 kids, even international traveling. We typically are weekend campers, but also go on a couple long trips a year. We also enjoy hosting Boondockers Welcome RVers passing through our home bases.

Paul is very helpful; he told us of potential wind storm on our way to his place which turned into very significant storm over the next 12 hours however we survived and enjoyed the rest of the stay and toured parts of the area that he had told us about. We found the basalt geological formations especially interesting as well as the Handford Reach National Monument was great for a circle tour. This area is particularly known for the Manhattan Project, a US secret production of nuclear warheads. One problem we had at DSW was the minimal 15 amp service but we managed it OK.

Desert Solar Winds was very accommodating and super friendly. A bit windy, but that happens often in Kennewick.

Our family stayed at Desert Solar Winds for 4 nights. Paul was a great host and communicator. It was our first time traveling in our 5th wheel and boondocking. He was very helpful with his advice. Pretty views and a lot of learning opportunities close by for our roadschooling family. We have a 38foot 5th wheel and long bed truck so getting into the driveway was a bit challenging because of the narrow fence and driveway but once in, there was plenty of space to maneuver. Getting out of the driveway was no problem. Highly recommend Desert Solar Winds.

A roomy area with great views! Short drive to everything you could need. The friendly host met us and showed us where to park in a large dirt area. We were grateful for the water and electric hookups. Thanks so much for a great stay!
