We have a log home on three forested acres in the country outside of Ottawa, surrounded by pasture and hay fields. There is a public canoe launch on the Mississippi River 2 km from the house. We are 15 minutes to Carleton Place, 20 to Perth, 30 to Kanata, 50 to downtown Ottawa and about 90 min to NY state( Ogdensburg crossing). Our home is 5 minutes off Ontario Hwy 7. Suggested Local Attractions:Downtown Ottawa is about a 50 minute drive and offers endless things to see and do including Parliament Hill, Rideau Hall, National Art Gallery, Museum of Natural History, Museum of Science and Technology, Royal Canadian Mint, National War Museum, and the National Aviation Museum. The beautiful towns of Carleton Place, Perth and Almonte (home of basketball creator Dr. James Naismith) are within 20 minutes. Paddle on the Mississippi, Tay and Clyde Rivers, all within 20 minutes. Leave your rig here safe and sound and go explore.

House Rules

-No smoking please. Family member has asthma. -Quiet hours 10 pm - 7 am (I get up at 5 am for work) -Well-mannered pets are welcome. If your dog is well-behaved and controllable there is lots of room to exercise and roam. Dogs that bark incessantly or who are not tolerant of other dogs or people are not welcome. Cows are present in the neighbouring pastures. There is a mature Labrador Retriever named Milo on the property who loves everyone and everything. If your dog is not "social" you will be asked to leave. -Depending on your needs / circumstances we can discuss filling up your water tanks or even possibly allowing you to hook up your water to the house. -We have a "family fire pit" that we would consider allowing you to use, but that depends on local fire bans / weather. -We are very social people and would be happy to "visit" with you, but if that is not something you're interested in that's cool too.

We stayed with Steven and Angela on August 27 and 28. We received a warm welcome in an enchanting and safe place. They made us feel like part of the family! This site is worth the detour to find a beautiful river for kayaking as well as beautiful bike routes. We hope to return in the near future.

A great stop between Kingston and Ottawa. The hosts were very accomodating and knowlegable of the area. The site felt like parking in the forest. We slep like babies and would definitely stay again.

Angela and Stephen were most welcoming. Their beautiful square log home with dormers is nestled in trees on a quiet country rd and is charming. The parking spot is in between tall cedars and is woodsy. Couldn't ask for more. They both were friendly and  acommodating. Would most certainly come here again. Close to the quaint town of Almonte.  Many thanks for a great stay. Ingrid and Joe

Our hosts at Ferguson’s Falls were very welcoming upon our arrival. This was our second stay at this quiet rural retreat. It was great catching up with our hosts and discussing events from our last visit a year ago. They are great hosts and have a lovely quiet and beautiful property in the country. We will be back!
