Location

Access Road Conditions: Art studio is off flat paved state highway, through gravel driveway to open field of grass. Smaller RV can use open area to turn to face highway before parking. Some areas have a few trees that can be parked under but not much space so can only pull in and back out. Larger RV must back into grassy area to turn around and face out. With rain the grassy area is slushy. Long rigs may have issues if the ground is wet. Class B's have no issues, Tow Vehicle Parking Details: I have about quarter acre grassy open area that can park car and RV together. All grass and soft in heavy rain. Long driveway with gravel to share if needed. Have areas under trees that are tight must drive into them and back around to face out. Long trailers being towed may have difficulty turning in yard if it is rainy. Knowing how to back a rig is a must. Gate is narrow, but passable with driving skill. Busy highway at traffic hours, but large shoulders. Can use subdivision across highway as turn in to turn rig around to face my gate to drive in without need to wait on highway for traffic to clear.

We enjoyed our stay at Fig Street Art Studio. It was easy to get to, felt private, on level ground and the electric hookup was a bonus. The host was delightful and showed us around his property. This spot is on our list if we come through here again.

Such an interesting and pleasant host. I enjoyed our conversations that covered quite a few topics. Safe, secure and secluded spot to park for tiny trailers or camper vans. Very tight entrance to driveway, so no large rigs. Would definitely stop again if in the area.

This is a really nice location with a really nice host. Lots of options on where to set up. Our host has a fascinating background and many skills including the paintings which adorn the walls of his house. We smartly took his advice to visit Bay St. Louis instead of New Orleans (where we’d been seveeral times before) and had a lovely evening walking the beach and the town before watching the sunset and enjoying some delicious local cusine. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

Jerry, the host and artist in residence, was a lot of fun to talk with and had valuable advice about safe free parking in NOLA. We loved his tree-filled property and were fortunate to meet an interesting young couple from North Carolina who were there with their DIY schoolie RV. We definitely hope to take Jerry up on his kind offer of a return visit.

Thanks to our host Jerry who was receiving 2 campers that night. As the weather forecast was heavy rain, Jerry indicates us a good spot to park on the grass to easily get out the next day. He even proposed us to knock at his door shall we need shelter should the weather turns too bad. Many thanks for your kind hospitality Jerry!
