We are located in Port Charlotte, FL near Gulf Coast of Florida. Centrally located for attractions, waterways/canals and beaches. Lots of boaters come here for free boat launch access points. Our home is modest with a simple cement driveway plus gravel area to accommodate rigs up to 25 feet. We do have accessible front yard grassy area for overflow parking as need. Suggested Local Attractions:Local beaches Dog-friendly beaches Downtown Punta Gorda Fisherman's Village Port Charlotte Beach Park (3.5 miles/8 min) - a must see for amazing sunset spot Larry Taylor Kiwanis Park (1 mile/4min) - walking trails with mature shaded trees Port Charlotte Dining: Gator's - dive bar w/ live music The Grill At 1951 - upscale dining w/ live music Punta Gorda Dining: TTs Tiki Bar - casual spot to watch sunset (get there just before happy hour to get seating) Laishley' Crab House - great menu with harbor views from 2nd deck Fisherman's Village - Village Brewhouse Further away: Disneyworld Orlando (2 hours northeast) Everglades (1.5 hours south) Tampa, FL (1 hour north) Key West (5-6 hours south)

Empty Nesters Details: We are Empty Nesters with adult kids out of the house. Just us 2 plus 2 small fur babies (dogs). We've been travel bugs for a lifetime. We recently traveled throughout FL, visiting national/state parks, friends and family along the way. We highly recommend this place. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming. The parking was perfect.

The hosts are a nice lovely couple. Very welcoming and helpful. They gave us many tips for places to go in the area. We took our bikes and went to the beach. Nearby the beach is a community pool which is heated, has hot showers and lifeguards. Entry for a day is $3. Spot was great, leveled and easily accessable. If you're in Port Charlotte, definitely reserve your spot at Florida Shack!
