On week-ends Black Forest Glider association (on the field) flies gliders and you can go for a glider ride if that is on your bucket list. Were between Colo Springs and Denver so are in the middle of the attractions. Suggested Local Attractions:there are so many, need to find out what your interest are and we can direct you in that direction.

Location

Access Road Conditions: Last 1-1/2 miles are gravel, sometimes a little rough or wash boards. I suggest unhooking the toad before starting the gravel. There is a turnaround at the start of the gravel so plenty of room to unhook. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: You might want to unhook toad before hitting the gravel, plenty of room on the road at the start of the gravel to unhook and hook up again.

Easy going, get along with almost everbody. Details: We live on an AirPark, if not familiar with an airpark is, its like a golf community but we have an airstrip in the center of the fly-in community and we all pay for the strip threw dues we pay each year. We are not all pilots or have airplanes but encourage aviation. The lots are from 3- 6 acres. We have two airplanes parked in our garage (hanger attached to the house). We have a 11.6'' pickup camper on a 1 ton dully pickup that we have taken to AZ (along with a RZR) for about 3 months the last 10 years. We boondock all over, in front of friends, relatives, and of course BLM land and run the RZR all over AZ. Home Town: We live 7 miles East of a Small town of Elbert CO. between Denver & Co Springs. Nice and quite, you won't even need to lock your doors and night. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Mainly in Az in the winter because we have a cabin the CO mountains that we use in the summer that is 2 hrs away and guest could camp up their also. When traveling we stay anywhere there is a open spot that looks like it would be quite and safe . We are fortunate living out west and have tons of BlM land and state land we can camp on for free. Skills or Expertise to Share: I do a lot of the maintenance on house, airplane, Cabin which we have in the mountains, jack of all trades I guess you might say.

This is a flyers dream, flneihus and his wife were wonderful hosts. Our conversations were great. The location is beautiful. The dirt road to their house is no problem. I would definitely and probably will stay here again.

Had a very pleasant night even though it had been a hot day. Evening breeze made A/C unnecessary. We needed to extend a night due to family issues and host was agreeable. Interesting neighborhood if you are an airplane buff.
