1920's bungalow in the heart of Houston in a small neighborhood called the Heights. It's a quiet, residential area so no parties, loud music or grilling/cooking outside on the lawn. Perfect for a stop through--about 2 miles from I10. While quiet the neighborhood is bustling with tons of new growth! LOTS of new eateries. New Wholefoods 360 a half mile away. Quick & easy access to Downtown--less than 15 mins. Washington Ave restaurants & venues start 3 miles away--Wal Mart, Anytime Fitness, LA Fitness along that route. Galleria Shopping about 3 miles away! Don't want to unhitch your car/rig...No problem. Within 4 blocks you can walk to grocery, drugstores, Subway, Duncan Donuts, BK, KFC-TB, Mc'y D's, Nail & Hair salon, my trusted mechanic, several bank options, Krieser's Pet supplies and Grooming, Jog an Esplande trail and plenty of local pubs & eateries, some with kitches and other with food trucks. Library nearby. City bus access also on same block. 30 Amp available when parked in drive--release the code before you arrive. 15 amp is also available in drive or can run to street parked rig. Please abide by Boondockings monetary recommendations for electrical use. (Drop in locked box -- location to be shared.) Access to water if host is available--not for filling tanks. Generator use as needed for meal prep, etc. Please limit to 30 min or less run times between 7a-11p. Dog friendly backyard available if host is home and successful intro to the Home Pups--see my pic. Rather than leave pups alone in rig, I recommend 2 doggie daycares, both less than a mile away, with one perfect for pups 35lbs and under and the other for the larger dogs. Can recommend good easily assessable and affordable vet if your fur baby needs! That's it for my "Start-up." Will see how this goes as for my availability & "scheduling." I see I'm one of the fewer host-sites, and only, available inside the loop of a major city--in this case HOUSTON! Limiting to overnights for starters--longer stay may inquire re: AirBnB options. Thanks for stopping by & safe travels! Suggested Local Attractions:See above

Location

Access Road Conditions: Houston Heights is an old, yet trendy, 'bedroom' community with paved streets, flat access on most all streets and centrally located just off loop 610 & I10 between I45 & 290. Drive has a steep rise from street up to sidewalk--I rely on skid wheels. Recommend 20+ foot rigs turn right into drive and back out to the right headed eas(away from commercial building next to host locationt. This allows space for back end moving slightly up commercial park lot ramp without hitting curb allowing you making the tight turn out of drive to your left where you can go down and around the block to main street without any issues. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Up to 28' rigs (Class B, C & truck Campers) will fit in driveway with tow or 'toad' vehicle parking on street. Street parking both in front of house & on street directly across the street (best as tree on house side has branches, which may scratch your rig!)

Lover of anything involving that wind-in-your-face feel, water and/or wheels! Details: Greetings from Texas! Born & raised in Columbus,Ohio for early years, then (Shhh, cover your ears Texans) time on the South Jersey Shore before landing in TX. San Antonio is "Home" of the family homestead now. After college, I followed my dream of living in the Caribbean--a piece of my heart & soul remains in St John, USVI...my passion-place. Back to Texas for Grad school. "Road Warrioring" as a medical field rep put me through grad school--OH, to have had an RV then!! Now I'm a health professional and still a "Road Warrior" at heart, no longer vocationally, but enjoying travelling in the comfort of my 27' Coach House Platinum Class C rig. Hearing that Triton V10 fire up, then pointing the cab toward the horizon ALWAYS grows a slow, big ear-to-ear grin on my face! Still working and some caregiving keeps my roamings closer to home. Yet excited about telehealth opportunities in my work openning new doors and allowing my office to be the RV located WHERE-EVER!!... Adventure is my middle name. I love meeting people, who share their passions and let me enjoy new experiences, places and learn new things through their eyes and on the wave of their passion. Again, my passion... all things Caribbean! I look forward to talking or meeting. Those receiving my inquiry "Thanks in advance for considering my stay!" If ever headed through Houston, look me up! Home Town: Houston Heights, Texas Favorite Boondocking Locations: Only just starting considering longer travel. To date the Galveston Seawall is my close-to-home favorite. Skills or Expertise to Share: Not sure...lets talk and see what comes about! If it involves wind, water or wheels and/or involves chasing a horizon, creates a wind-in-your-face experience or instills me with that "Freedom & Joy-feeling" like only nature and the great-outdoors can do , I'm sure I'll have something to say!

I think this host’s profile said at the time I requested a stay that they hadn’t had any Boondockers yet as they had just started as a host so I’ll find it hard to believe if people don’t start requesting a stay, and I hope other Boondockers will inquire to stay here and enjoy it as I did! What a convenient, nice, and usafe location this was. There are various, neat little shopping stores and restaurants in this neighborhood-it was impossible to choose where to have dinner! Unfortunately my dog had an accident with his paw pads at a dog park in the area and we had to head to a pharmacy and pet store for supplies-lesson learned to get that emergency kit prepared ahead of time. He’s ok now though:) Anyway, we got in very late to this location but it was very easy to find and in a safe neighborhood. I liked that the host shared my picture with their neighbors so they’d know who to expect as the host was going to be away. There’s a nice vacant grassy lot right across the street that was perfect for letting my dog get out and stretch his legs and do his business. As I have only a 19 foot camper van it was no problem backing in and I did not have a problem with the “steep” driveway or any scraping. My only regret is that we weren’t able to meet our host or enjoy any time on the lovely front porch that they so kindly offered. Hopefully the host and I can stay in touch as we discovered we’re in the same line of business. If you’re wanting to explore the city of Houston this is a great place to stay! I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.
