The Hidden Oaks is a hidden gem for boondockers! Come enjoy quiet and peaceful countryside living for a day or two. The hosts Danny and Susan are super sweet. Susan has been very communicative ever since I made the reservation for our solar eclipse trip. She updated me constantly on the weather, direction, and upon our arrival, she invited us to a bonfire party with her family and other boondockers! We were also given their home made mulberry jam and two sheets of local information. There’s plenty of room (paved with gravels) for parking our 21 feet camper van, and there’s a picnic table, fire ring, firewood under the trees. The next day we watched the solar eclipse together. I was worried about the weather but we had a total blast! It was an unforgettable experience! Thank you Danny and Susan. We will definitely stay again!

What an amazing stay we had! Susan and Danny hosted us (last minute) for the Total Eclipse and totally came through for us after the campground canceled due to flooding… Every cloud has a silver lining and I couldn’t be happier with our outcome! Their property is gorgeous. Sprawled out over several acres, surrounded by fruit trees and wildlife, it is off the beaten path and very relaxing. We were traveling in a 22’ van and there is ample room for parking. Upon arrival we were greeted by Susan with a jar of homemade Redbud flower jam and a printout of local destinations in the vicinity. A tour of the property taught us the different between Buckeyes (not-edible) and Chestnuts (which we came home with a bag full, and I was surprised how sweet they were!) and she shared her passion of gardening and plentiful herbs! Later that evening we were treated to a bonfire and s’mores which was a wonderful opportunity to socialize with the other boondockers joining us. The following afternoon was the main event, Total Solar Eclipse and we couldn’t have been in a better location! We stayed a second night and her son delivered farm fresh eggs from up the road. What a gem of a location, don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity. We are so happy serendipity intervened and our path crossed! Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!

We stayed a couple of nights. There was plenty of space to park and get turned around. We had some nice conversations and enjoyed some of her homemade jam. there is little road noise- a real country feel. Plan to stay here again.

Hidden Oaks is a beautiful spot, owned by the sweetest couple. We were fortunate to enjoy 75 degree temps in November and it couldn’t have been more picturesque! We were greeted with yummy homemade peach jam and a nice explanation of what was nearby for groceries, exploring etc. Grass parking is easy and level. There’s also a picnic table, firewood and a fire ring. We ‘d love to come again! We purchased fresh potatoes, more jam and some berry syrup. Yum!
