We're a first responder, CPR instructor, photographer, musicians, English horseback riding, video editor, Jiu Jitzu student, and collector of animals. Our home is always busy doing something or preparing for the next adventure. I love being a Mommy of 2 boys, 2 cats, 2 desert tortoises, and 15 chickens. I'll apologize now for our rooster giving you an early morning wakeup call. We live on the outskirts of Riverside County, where the night gets dark and usually stay quiet. Native to California, originally from the beach areas but now enjoying the desert life, yet I still try my hand at gardening. We homeschool, stay busy with lessons in music or sports. I'm a child of the 70's so we get to introduce our boys to some of the better qualities of being a kid. Hemet is a perfect mix of small town and city big enough to keep us all happy. Hemet is also home to the Ramona Bowl Amphitheater and Historic Hemet Theater both dating back to 1921. Orange orchards are just down the road, close enough to enjoy the blossoms in spring. Idyllwild is a half hour away and offers a nice get-away to a little mountain community. Temecula's wine country in the other direction offers wine tours or a balloon ride. Western Science Center is a specialty high school in our district, renowned for its study of dinosaurs and fossils. https://www.westernsciencecenter.org visit the Mastodons at the Natural History Museum.

A lovely overnight. Maria greeted and directed us in. I met her boys—homeschooled like my own guys. Played a little piano, bought some eggs, then off to a good night’s sleep. Quiet night and an early morning back on the road. The electrical hookup was 20 amp, not 30, but we had a small electric heater that made for a comfortable night. A good transition from coastal to high desert weather!

We stayed here for 4 nights in their nice quiet neighborhood. We were visiting with some friends in Hemet and made the drive up to Idyllwild while in town. We felt welcomed to be there and would recommend this host!

This was my first stay with Boondockers Welcome, and it did not dissapoint! Maria and her family were so hospitable. The boys helped me wash my van as I had just come from the a week in the desert. They had water and electrical hook ups and could use their laundry! Also had dinner with the family the first night. Such a wonderful experience and would definitely visit here again!
