Upon arrival we were immediately approached by pet wolf hybrids that we were not made aware of. It took a very long time to finally contact the hosts (through the app, through text, and directly at their workplace which was suggested by a kind neighbor.) When we finally received a response, they admitted they were remiss in mentioning that they kept these hybrids as pets. These hosts wrote us a poor review, saying we should have better researched the area and that we kept others from enjoying the location, when the issue was their lack of communication. They claimed these hybrids were behind an invisible fence, but we saw no collars and we were directly approached by them. Our dog was very fearful, and we had to leave the location. We stayed as long as possible, waiting for a response from the host, but needed to leave and find other accommodations. We had no way of knowing if these were pets or wild wolves and we couldn’t wait forever. We did not receive any response from the host until after we left. This is a lovely location, but we are extremely dissatisfied with our host and their lack of communication.

Our hosts were very friendly and communicated directions well. The parking spot is gravel with a lovely deck where we enjoyed sitting in the evenings. It is very quiet and peaceful except for the random howling of the dogs (one is apparently part wolf so it actually sounds cool to hear). We are grateful that the hosts have set up such a nice boondocking spot on their property and provided a 30 AMP hookup. Located in a neighborhood not far from Cripple Creek, it was a great place to stay during the perfect summer weather.

Where do I even start. The first thing about this stay is the peace and quite. You are high up in the mountains right in the middle of nature. The only noise you will hear during your stay is the sounds of the grasshoppers and the occasional howl from the dogs. There is a nice sized turn around at the end of the road that makes it easy to be able to access the parking site with a wonderful deck. The deck was great for enjoying the cool evening air and BBQing. Overall and amazing place to stay. We will be back for sure :)

This is a beautiful remote location, high in the mountains. We enjoyed our stay there even though it was shortened by a mechanical issue. If you want a good getaway, this is it. Thanks for letting us stay.
