Smokey was the highlight. Although grateful for the stay, I think a bit of cleaning up is in order. It seems their heart is just not in it.

We parked next to the “sauna,” which looks like a red barn. Becky offered us water and electricity, but we didn’t need it. The spot was not exactly level, but it was fine for just sleeping. The farm is located off the main road to Ely, so super convenient. They have black ducks, chickens, rabbits, pigs, and horses. We didn’t explore the farm due to the rainy weather and our dog. Therefore, not the best place to stay if you have a dog that likes to chase little animals. We slept great! No noise issues at all. Thank you Becky for hosting us.

Great place for animal lovers. Chickens, pigs, sheep, rabbits, cats, a horse, a couple dogs and more. One of the dogs loves to play ball with guests. Kids will have a fun. Everyone we spoke to was pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again.

What a great place to get your “farm animal fix”! We had such a fun time watching, and playing with, the various farm animals here. Smokey the dog was a riot watching him chase “his ball” around the yard. Stay out of his way though as he sometimes looses control of his direction. Rebecca was there to welcome us and proved to be a very friendly and fun to visit with host. Surprisingly for a farm, it was very quiet here, even in the early morning as they must keep the roosters penned up early….thank you for that! The only minor thing that I feel other Boondocker’s should be aware of is that this is a working farm with higher numbers of flies than normal. They were not a issue for us until evening when they also were looking for a nice cozy place to spend the night. Not an issue if you have good screens. Overall this was a great and fun place that we would definitely stay here again if in the area.

First of all, the hosts are very nice people. We feel fortunate to have had this BDW experience. Parking was easy and the 15 amp worked fine. The driveway has some some pot holes. Slow down. You will be fine. We stayed two nights. That gave us a chance to tour Soudan Mine. We thought the tour was great. We explored the other points of interest and took some short hikes. The host’s farm animals were on our schedule and we slept very well. We would like to stay again. Thanks to the hosts for being part of BDW. And yes, we’ve watched the Oshkii Giizhik Singers on YouTube.
