House Rules

The main rule is follow, The Campsite Rule, leave the site in as good or better condition as you found it. Be respectful, to all around including; people, animals and land. Pets are welcome but must be supervised at all times and cleaned up after. Same goes for children. We do not have a fenced in area and do not want anyone getting lost or hurt. Be advised this is bear country. Because of our dry climate NO camp fires, fire rings or smoking. Thank you

Location

Access Road Conditions: We are a bit off the beaten path. We are 2.5 miles up a county dirt road, then .4 mile up a steep hill on a private road. Our driveway is about a .3 mile gravel drive with lots of curves and a bit narrow in places and no pull through at the house. There is a place at the head of the drive to park so you do not have to drive all the way to the house. There is also a nice place .1 mile in that has a small off road pull through. There may be low hang trees. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: We have a few places to park but currently only have a small off road pull through. So has to be a small trailer. We are working on places to accommodate larger RVs and trailers.

Best friends who married, learning life along the way! Details: With the kids out of the house and able to work remotely, we are just starting this RVing life. Forever in search of mountain streams, waterfalls and beautiful remote places. We would also like to share our beautiful piece of Southern Colorado land with others. Love animals, hiking and meeting new people. Home Town: We recently moved to Weston CO, in-between Trinidad and La Veta . Originally from Ann Arbor MI, have lived many places in the US, including NM, OH, Cape Cod and Key West. Favorite Boondocking Locations: In search of, will share places as we find them. Skills or Expertise to Share: Drake works with computers both hardware and software. Has dabbled quite a bit with solar and pool plumbing. Shannon has worked in healthcare with humans and animals most of her life. Our friend, Patrick is the founder of GoSun.co. Great products for off grid. We are by no means salespeople and do not sell them. Although we have a few of the products and know it is nice to try an item out before you buy it online. So if you are interested in trying your hand at cooking a meal in a solar oven...

The host was great with communication and even showed me a petroglyph on their land! How cool is that?! It was so peaceful and there were NO mosquitoes. I can get eaten alive if I don’t douse myself in repellent. I wouldnt recommend it for longer rigs. The last little stretch of road to the driveway is a little steep and skinny on a dirt road. I’m in a van so no issue. I highly recommend this location. It is gorgeous.

We arrived @ dusk to a beautiful forested mountain hideaway. We took it slowly in our Class B & had no issues climbing up to 8,000 feet. Great communication made it simple to find the location. We highly recommend the Hundred Acre Woods & hope to stay here again some day.

Had a wonderful stay there. The property was beautiful. They have had some rain so they had me stay up near the house otherwise there are spots on the way up to their house that would be great as well. With great wifi through my verizon I was able to get a lot of work done. It was a very quiet night of sleep. I recommend it
