(Temporarily, all dates are blocked due to family circumstances. We will unblock as soon as we can. Safe Travels.). Actually...it's just our house...but everyone had such cool host location names, we didn't want to be outdone! We live just a few blocks off the I-55 Gluckstadt exit (#112) in a gated neighborhood with snotty protective covenants, so it's not a beautiful farm or on a lake or anything like that. It is a three acre lot, so there is a good bit of space and it's not like a normal crowded neighborhood. We do have a couple of spoiled dogs and weird cats, but that's as exotic as it gets. However, if you are driving through and just need a driveway for the night, come on by. Madison is a northern suburb of Jackson, the State's Capital. Madison/Ridgeland has a plethora of phenomenal restaurants. If you want to experience quintessential Mississippi Cuisine, go to Mama Hamil's ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Southern Soul Food & BBQ. Cock of the Walk is our go-to Catfish location. Or just ask us where to go depending on what you're hungry for. While Jackson has struggled with blight and crime over the last couple of decades, there are a few attractions we would highly suggest. The main one is the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. This museum is humbling and haunting. It's hard to imagine merely 50 years ago such atrocities could have taken place in our beautiful state. Highly HIGHLY recommend. There is also the Mississippi Children's Museum if you are traveling with kids. There is also the Eudora Welty House, Medgar Evers House, Mississippi Ag and Forestry Museum, Mississippi Museum of Art, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, and more. House Rules
Look at all of the photos, and there will be more instructions embedded on the photos to show you where we are located, which driveway is ours, how to hookup, where to park your vehicle, etc. Our driveway has a few trees on either side, so please have someone assisting with backing in. If you are traveling solo, let us know and we can assist if available. WiFI network we suggest is BoondockersWelcomeFaster5GHz (password 6012092360). Speeds are typically over 300mbps from the driveway. Some devices don't like the 5GHz band. If you have trouble, use the slower BoondockersWelcomeStandard2.4GHz network with the same password.
Location
The neighborhood is gated, but just pull up to the gate...it will open, no code required. We live at the end of a dead end cul de sac, so we suggest you turn around in the cul de sac and then back up the entire length of the driveway. We will have four orange paint markings on the driveway and ask you park within those boundaries. By doing so, it should allow for plenty of room for us to come and go, and our friends who live in our guest house the ability to come and go. You WILL need to unhook at our location unless you have compact car pulling a Scamp, ha.
