I know this spot sounds rough -- because it is. However, it is fairly private with extra room to set up a tent and an outdoor cooking area. Partial mountain view to watch sunset is a bonus. You can get drinking water from my house, but no bathroom privileges. There are no dumping stations on Hornby. When you get ready to leave, some rearranging of vehicles may be required to clear you a turn around spot. Suggested Local Attractions:Hornby Island campgrounds are often completely full for July and August because so many people are attracted to the big sandy beach and many trails all over the island. There is an extensive mountain biking trails and even biking paths along the side of many roads. Helliwell park provides and easy hike with great views.

Location

Access Road Conditions: The driveway is gravel with some small potholes. I can drive my truck with camper up it, but may have a branch or two reaching the top of your rig. There is a power line access road, which is a little more rough but private -- just be aware you will have to back out when leaving as road does not go through. There are also a couple of spots in my driveway that you could use -- where I could provide 15 amp power and water is near-by. You could set-up your RV in one and park your tow vehicle in another. Ground not very level anywhere -- have some wood boards that you can stack and drive up to help. Not sure what the maximum size RV can come up here. Big delivery trucks can make it and turn around, but I am guessing 35 feet would be close to the maximum. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: I have a couple of parking spots for vehicle separate from camping spots. However, I may be using one. Please inquire about availability.

We had a wonderful stay at this Island Paridise. After a little confusion on our end we made it up to our spot for the evening. Our host was great to come meet us and tell us a little history of the island. Our host let us come into her yard to admire the veiws back, unfortunately the smoke from a recent fire on Vancouver Island blurred the veiw. With that said, it made for a great sun set!

Dianne was very helpful and accommodating. Lovely quiet spot. Maneuvering was tight for our 21-ft Class-B but we found a level-enough spot beside the cedars.

We had a great stay at Dianne’s, enjoying her chats, flexible hosting, and the lovely meadow/forest location. We took many lovely outings from this central spot on the island. It is a steep, uneven gravel road in to her parking area so smaller rvs are best.
