Our home is an inland renovated 1890's farm house on a 4 acre lot. Pets are welcome, but we do have 3 dogs (one of whom can be territorial), and free-range chickens, so if your dogs are not friendly (or one of mine decides to not be friendly) your dogs must be kept on leash inside the boundaries of the house dog's E-fence. We have a half-moon driveway where the 30 amp plug is located, or we also have a regular outdoor 120 volt plug available. A hose can be made available for water access. THERE ARE NO DUMPING STATIONS ANYWHERE ON THE ISLAND! There are public access beaches within walking, biking, or driving distance. We do have a couple of kayaks that can be used if the adult user is skilled. Very Important To Understand: This island is reached via vehicle carrying, Maine State Ferry Service at Lincolnville Beach, ME. The trip takes about 25 minutes. There is a fee based on length of vehicle/ # of axles, and number of occupants, and it only runs at various times from 7:30 am to 5 pm. Reservations for the date and time you arrive are strongly encouraged, and do cost extra. Ferry trip cancellations can occur based on crew shortages or weather. Depending on the size of your rig and/or tow, you may have to schedule arrival based on tide levels (mid-tide is ideal). Research should be done prior to showing up for arrival and departure to avoid being stranded on the mainland or the island, or difficulty onboarding and offloading from the ferry. Additional info available here: https://www.maine.gov/mdot/ferry/lincolnville/ The island has VERY LIMITED resources. There are two small grocery stores, one sandwich/ice cream shop, and a new lunch shop with limited hours in summer. There are no restaurants, hotels, motels, bars or banks. There is a town health center and ambulance service. There are AIRBNB's, but no public camping on Islesboro. You can kayak or boat to Warren Island State Park where there is tent and shelter camping. There is a day use public beach with BBQs and picnic area. There are two active Churches. In the summer there is a weekly farmers market. There are public launches for boats, kayaks, etc. The town library and local gift shops have trail maps for several short, but beautiful trails on the island. There are a couple of merchant gift shops here. Suggested Local Attractions: Island Market, Durkees Store, Dark Harbor Shop, Apples Store, The Community Center Gift Shop and a few other shops. https://www.facebook.com/ICC04848, Town Beach, Island Trails. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g40685-Activities-Islesboro_Maine.html

Remote boondocking preferred! Details: We are a couple that often travels with 2 dogs. They are very well mannered and easily controlled. We have a newish RV and prefer boondocking over campgrounds. Love to hike, kayak, and bike when possible. Home Town: We live on Islesboro, an island off the coast of Maine. Favorite Boondocking Locations: The more remote the better! Skills or Expertise to Share: Nothing startling or impressive. Just homespun handiness when needed.

I stayed with Tobi & Bayard last year in June and just wanted to experience the island again! Tobi is a kind and gracious host. i find the yard sits and trail walks wonderfully refreshing downtime. They limit their visitors because of jobs and their personal travels. However you’d really enjoy your stay if there are dates available that meet your schedule.

Toby was so accommodating and fun to get to know. Make sure you follow her ferry instructions carefully. I kinda messed up 😬. I would highly recommend this Harvest host.
