We live on 10 acres a few miles north of Bend. We are close to Bend but live in a quiet rural area amongst the old-growth junipers and lava rock outcroppings. Guests can stay in level private area next to our garage and will have access to an electric hookup. The total length of the spot is 25' including vehicle and rig. Maximum width with slide out is 14 feet. Please stay on your side of the garage where you are parked. Our dog, Zedo, has become protective of our yard. We have a wireless fence that ends at the garage. Suggested Local Attractions:Bend is an outdoor mecca with a nice downtown that is situated on the river. There are festivals and live music in the summer. If you like alcoholic beverages, there are several breweries, distilleries, and cider places. If you like coffee, there are lots of coffee shops. There are volcanic features in the area - lava caves, lava tubes, lava forest, obsidian mountain. We are less than an hour away from the lush rainforest on the other side of the mountains and Smith Rock which is an internationally known climbing destination that has good hiking along the river and rock formations.

House Rules

Our spot is 25' total. Your vehicle and rig cannot exceed 25'. No generators after 9 at night or loud music because sound travels in our neighborhood. We live in a fire-prone area so no fires or cigarette smoking outside. You must be gone from 10-4 during the day. Stay on your side of the garage because our dog is protective of his area. Pick up after your dog.

Location

Access Road Conditions: The road to our property is a long cinder road. Depending on which direction you come in, Hunnell is paved or a gravel road . You need to stay on our property’s road and should arrive before dark because there are no lights. Park on the side of the garage where the firewood is. Our dog is protective so please stay on your side of the garage. You must be gone from 10-4 during the day. The best/safest way to get INTO Bend from our property is to take Hunnell to Rogers to Scenic to Hwy 20 OR take Hunnell to Tumalo Road to Hwy 97. We do NOT recommend taking Old Bend Redmond and trying to make a left onto Highway 20. It is a dangerous crossing which will be getting a roundabout soon.

Chuck is an artist. He also makes active dog supplies for sledding, skjoring, and urban mushing. Karen is a semiretired CPA who currently works with small businesses. We have a herding dog named Zedo who doesn’t like to herd but loves to run and do agility. Details: We like the outdoors and going on road trips in our van. Just finished doing a trip from Oregon to Florida. We have had our van over 20 years and have had many good times in it. Home Town: Live in Bend, Oregon

Nice location and pretty convenient for town but away from all the busyness. Karen was very welcoming and chatted for a bit. We stayed two nights and were left to our own devices.

Nice setting not far from town. Got to have a good conversation, but were generally in our quiet shady spot when we returned from exploring.

first off, make sure you follow the host's instructions regarding directions! both google and waze gave us incorrect info. secondly- this stay was perfect. it was quiet, secluded and safe. we did not get to meet the hosts, but they were very communicative via messaging. we saw a huge owl on the property, and a rabbit! would 100% recommend and return if qe are back in Bend
