Born and raised in Miami, Florida, lived most of my adult life after that in Alaska. Raising kids and racing sled dogs and working in the medical transcription field in Alaska for many years. Now after 45 years of amazing wintertime it is time to travel the great USA. Want to see something besides the highway :) and enjoy some new places.

Kathy was an excellent host. She invited me to stay an extra night when my husband‘s flight was delayed, and it was so nice having a familiar place to return to. The spot is level and secluded and had good Verizon coverage. There is no electric hookup, but Kathy let me run my generator when my battery got low. The history of her property and her sled dog days is fascinating; I wish we’d had more time to visit. I would gladly stop again if I’m back in the area!

Great stay. We went to Chena Hot Springs, North Pole, and Fairbanks from this location. Spent time relaxing after our trip up the Dalton Highway.

Big thank you to the host who allowed us to stay while they were away! Sorry we missed you! Thus quiet out of the way place is a bit off the main hwy, worth the effort! Chena Hot Springs Road is rough, go slow and watch for Moose, we found several. Pleasant Valley is a typical dirt solid surface Alaskan road. Follow the provided directions when you get to Paw Print Path, google will want to take you to Paw Print Lane - don't do that, no place for RV's. The wood pile is downed logs and a fair amount of old equipment, and the chain Iink fence/gate is obvious. The entrance is tight for tall rigs like our 5th wheel, tree branches will scrap your rig at roof hieght, go slow. Pull straight in as far as you can before making a sharp cut when backing into spot. Watch for antenna guide wire flagged in orange ribbon as you pull in. The spot was tight but do able to park in with our 34' 5th wheel. It would be really hard if another RV is there. I would recommend one big rig or two smaller rigs at one time. Pulling out with a large rig requires backing up a bit and then swinging towards the garage to clear the exit. Starlink works great if you place on picnic table in cleared area. Enjoy the F-35 jets flying over every once in awhile, they are cool! All in all, a great little nook of Alaska!

It was a great place for my dog and me. Had to get my camper fixed and Kathy graciously let me store some stuff during the fix. Got to see Denali in all his 'pink' glory coming down the hill into Fairbanks. Lots of hiking in the area and Chena Hot Springs was cool. (Ice Museum). Even got to share potato soup with another boondocker. Thank You Kathy!

We enjoyed 2 nights of space and tranquility in this lovely area. A nice place to spend a day exploring the area and enjoying Chena Hot Springs. We enjoyed taking care of the plants and were happy to meet Kathleen. Thank you for the hospitality. Greetings Robert and Nelleke from the Netherlands.
