Location

I move a 34 ft motorhome and 20 ft trailer in and out easily, turning onto our road might be an issue for large rigs, but I think it's doable reach out to confirm/show satellite imaging to determine if its a problem.

I am a solo female with my feline companion, of course, and could not have fallen into better hands than here at Kentucky Hilltop. First, the property sits atop a beautiful hill overlooking a pond with a landscape that is quite delightful. The morning sunrise was a treat as Socrates and I greeted the day. But the host's generous spirit is what makes me coming back for more experiences with HH, and I am willing to drive a few miles out of my way, and pay their asking fee to stay on more properties. He helped me with my trailer, he gave me a jump with my dead batteries, and he gave me good advice with general RV maintenance as I had a few questions. It was like staying with a good friend or a family member. My 85 year-old mother at home worries about my safety; but rest assured, with these wonderful accommodations, there is no Walmart or Cracker Barrell parking lot to fear.

I drove by the place and the host texted me right away (he happened to be driving right behind me)... so, anyone using Waze, note that the 'street' they are on is well before what Waze says. Drive slow the last 1/4 mile and watch for the signs. Was greeted right away and given directions and invitations for the hookups. BEAUTIFUL spot, level. I met Marylou and the kids, and the one you need to watch for is Daisy, their wonderfully energetic and curious dog. Daisy and I were best friends from the moment the kids accidentally let her out to roam! :-) Oh, and if you are offered their home brew beer, absolutely try it. His stout is very, very good, but a warning... it packs an unexpected punch. This was my first HH/BW stay... and I will be doing this again and again... I never want to sleep in rest areas / walmarts again! :-) If again in the area I will absolutely try to snag a spot here.

This was our first Harvest Host stay. What a privledge to camp on this Kentucky Hilltop. The property was beautiful, private with all the amenities, power, water, fire pit, and I think internet access which we didn’t need. Location was close to Louisville, Churchill Downs, Jim Beam distillery, and the Giant Forest, a must see. Our host was absolutely awesome. great first experience!

We stayed three days so we could visit Jim Beam Distillery. Narrow path to the house in some areas, but no major issues (36' MH w/ tow car). Ultimately ended at a nice big parking spot with chair and firepit, 20A power, good AT&T coverage. Plenty of room to turn around once there. Friendly hosts who let us sample their homebrew beer. We would stay again if in the area in the future!

PROS: Our hosts were super friendly. Their homesite has beautiful views. Great fire pit with free wood. CONS: If you are sensitive to microwaves, be aware the host has a WiFi beam antenna 10' from the parking spot and 5' off the ground. It is aimed directly through your rig while parked. Sleeping in the WiFi beam is kinda like sticking your head in a low power microwave overnight!
