We are 5 minutes outside the town of Smithfield on 38 acres of mostly wooded land. We are secluded and have walking trails on the property. The trails are well defined and there are some hilly parts. Our property is nothing fancy but it is quiet with plenty of room. If you are with a group of campers we can probably accommodate up to 8. If not groups, then probably about 4 so you are not real close to each other. We do have three dogs that run at large most of the day. If that is a concern please let us know so we can put them in a fenced area. Suggested Local Attractions:We are 5 minutes outside of downtown Smithfield..... home of Smithfield hams. Smithfield has a downtown district featuring historic attractions, charming shops, boutiques and galleries as well as restaurants and a brew pub. We are one hour from the Virginia Beach oceanfront and about an hour from Williamsburg/Jamestown..... can take a free ferry ride here. Lots of historic locations and numerous military bases within an hour.

Country at heart Details: My husband and I grew up in the North (PA and NY). Have been living back in VA for over 10 years now. I am a high school counselor and my husband is in law enforcement. He is also retired from the Air Force. We own 38 acres of pure heaven right outside of town and we spend most of our time working around our property. Just hard-working, down-to-earth people. We have been to several beautiful areas in Virginia. Krohn's paradise is another lovely retreat. The property sprawls and is inviting. We camped in the treed enclosure and loved the forest feel. Butt still got solar!!

The hosts were quick to approve our request, and we enjoyed the interaction we had with them even though it was brief. They have 2 grass fields to park in, and our 40' Class A did fine getting in and out. We loved exploring lots of history in the area - about an hour to Jamestown or to the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk. We appreciated a quiet rest in the country each night, and the other RVers were pleasant to meet. I was sorry I didn't get to explore the trails!

Their communications prior to my arrival made the drive onto their country property a comfortable drive. Their home is definitely out-in-the-country. A safe and lovely location. I'm so glad I took their recommendation of taking a ferry to Williamsburg.

The hosts were very gracious and accommodating. Their three dogs are super friendly. We were situated in this canopy that created the perfect all day shade. Def recommend staying here!

We just left Krohn's Paradise. They are responsive, and communicate very well. The hosts were very nice and welcomed us with open arms. They allowed us to have a fire, which was so nice. I was able to collect plenty of sticks from their wooded area. Their doggies are so sweet, we loved seeing them and giving some loving. One did want to eat our cat, who looked delicious at the time. lol. They were so good to bring them on leashes when they knew we had cats (so appreciated). We had a wonderful time. It is so quiet and peaceful.
