Need a rest stop while travelling north or south on I-5 through Washington? We offer a driveway to park in about 5 miles off of the freeway in the Olympia area. We are close to Fort Lewis - McCord, a couple hours from Mt. Rainier National Park, at the base of the Olympic Peninsula, and a good place to steel yourselves before facing the traffic of metropolitan Seattle - Tacoma. More information about area sights to see and shopping is at LaceyRest.blogspot.com

House Rules
We are a non-smoking (non-vaping, non-cannabis) location. Well controlled pets are welcome on a leash when outside of the vehicle. If your trailer is 27 ft or shorter, plan to unhook from the tow vehicle. Sorry but the parking location will not allow for awnings on the starboard side nor do we have room for slide-outs.
Location
We are in a residential neighborhood with a small lot. Please park on the gravel area on the south side of the driveway. If you have a trailer (up to 27 ft) you will likely want to disconnect and park your tow vehicle on the street just to the north of the driveway under the small tree. Power is in a grey box at the corner of the garage, 120/240 with a "dryer" style outlet (we have a pigtale to convert to 120 v 30 amp RV style plug if you need to borrow one) or there is a 20 Amp outlet lower on the wall. All access roads are paved and in excellent condition, our road dead-ends into a cul-de-sac turn-around in a short distance. IF YOU HAVE A SLIDEOUT YOU LIKELY WONT BE ABLE TO EXTEND IT.

After living on a boat for 7 years (story at http://salishaire.blogspot.com/ ) we bought an Airstream 25' and have put 25000 miles on it in the first 2 years we've owned it. After selling the boat we moved into a "dirt house" (ongoing story at https://claricenorman.blogspot.com/ ) back in our native Western Washington at the southern most tip of the Salish Sea. We now have a "tiny boat" (25'). Between the 3 "homes" we keep ourselves more than a little busy in our retirement. (BTW: we are VERY comfortable backing trailers so we are not allergic to back-in entries.)

We had such a lovely stay at Lacey Rest. Norman and Clarice were so gracious and we gained so much insight from them given their long-term travels. We sincerely hope our paths will again cross!
