We are offering space on our mountain property next to our cabin. It isn't a lot of space but enough to be comfortable a few nights. We border forest service land in the Bitterroot National Forest. You will pass several dispersed campsites and one small forest service campground on the way to our cabin. Just up tje road two miles is another campground and dispersed camping. Suggested Local Attractions:We have access from our home to many ATV trails, fishing, hunting and hiking.

Life is all about the experience! Details: My husband and I have been married 30 years. We have 8 children and 9 grandchildren. We were foster parents for 14 years and my husband works in the Juvenile Probation department. We have one child still living at home who will travel with us. We are recently retired and now have the freedom to travel and explore more often. We love hiking, fishing and hunting. Most anything outdoors and active. Home Town: We recently purchased a cabin in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. We are located 14 miles up the North Fork of the Bitterroot River. We are 45 minutes from the nearest town of Darby, Montana. There are two forest services campgrounds within five miles of us as well as plenty of dispersed camping. The Bitterroot Valley is beautiful and have several roads to explore, trails to hike and rivers to fish! Favorite Boondocking Locations: Our boondocking experience is limited. Although we love to camp on Harrison Pass and Lamoille Canyon in Elko County, Nevada. Skills or Expertise to Share: We are indipendant people who believe in being self sufficient. We garden, can and preserve our food. I love to sew and make simple quilts. We have some hunting and hiking experience and love to share what we know about our beautiful area. My husband is an avid hunter and particularly enjoys bird hunting and training bird dogs. Also, having worked in the Juvenile justice system and foster care system, we have years of experience in those areas.

We found Mountain Sage in a remote, quiet mountain community past a scenic Valley complete with Big Horn sheep. The hosts are warm, generous folks who made us feel at home and welcome and our spot had everything we needed. We enjoyed visiting, sharing travel stories and getting to know each other. We would definitely come back again.

Great stay. Host was not home but welcomed my stay anyway. Very hot weather but with 30 amp outlet by utility pole and AC worked fine! Thanks host.

Although we didn't get to meet our hosts, our one day stay was a welcome oasis from twelve days of boondocking. We were greeted by the sweetest looking cabin with a picnic table and fire ring. The conveniently placed water and power made it easy for our 17' camper. It was welcomed as the temperature was in the 90's! We were able to make a lovely dinner and have hot showers. Thank you so much.. We would love to stay again if ever coming through the area!

MountainSage was a good host. They provided electricity and entainment in the form of a friendly dog, a bunch of chickens and a bee hive. I had a nice chat and was surprised by a gift of some fresh eggs.
