We live at the end of a paved county road. The cul de sac that we live on is fairly narrow and it would be difficult for large rigs to turn around in. We have a 20' camper and it is hard for me to turn it around in the cul de sac. Caution would be required. The parking area in on a gravel drive back to our barn and on high ground. We have 12, mostly wooded, acres with a short hiking trail. We do have both 50 amp and 30 amp hookups as well as a dump and water. We have a number of gardens on our property as well. Suggested Local Attractions:Missouri state capital building is 15 minutes away. University of Missouri is a 45 minute drive. We have a number of hiking locations within short driving distance and are very close to a trailhead for the Katy Trail state park.

We are a pair of nature lovers Details: We are a retired couple who enjoys the outdoors and traveling this great country. Sometimes we travel light in our pickup with a camper shell on the bed, and other times we travel with our hybrid travel trailer. I (Larry) enjoy refurbishing old trailers and sometimes building my own campers. We volunteer with the Missouri Department of Conservation. We don't like traveling with reservations because we enjoy spur of the moment decisions on what direction we will travel, or which roads we might take. We do like remote campsites and enjoy boondocking. We are both in our 70's and have two daughters and two grandchildren. Home Town: Holts Summit, MO Favorite Boondocking Locations: National Forests and BLM locations in the west. Skills or Expertise to Share: Larry - Woodworking, simple plumbing and electric skills. Carol - Quilting

We arrived late and the host met us when we arrived. We just spent one night but wish we could have stayed longer. You will have a hard time meeting a more welcoming host.

Holts Summit MO, June 2023 I am a solo fulltime camper traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail in a 23 Ft long Winnebago View Motorhome. I stayed with this BoonDocker’s Welcome host in June 2023. A second visit for me – I had been hosted by them in 2022. The hosts are a delightful, retired couple and very gracious and accommodating. I originally planned for two nights but loved the place so much I requested an additional night. The lovely home (“Little Cedar Lodge”) is in a delightful rural location, near Jefferson City and ideally located for visiting the local area. Communications with the hosts and directions to their home were excellent. I enjoyed chatting with them and I would ask to stay again if in the area. The host offers level, gravel or grass parking sites. Electricity, and water are available.

Larry and Carol are the sweetest people in existence. You feel welcome and at home from the first moment. Larry has everything a Boondocker could want. Water, electricity and a dump. Is that luxury. We are invited to join them after dinner to talk and have a drink. We like to do that and it is extremely pleasant. The next day we discover the treehouse. Fantastic a little paradise in itself. I spent almost all day in it. Did yoga and wrote letters. It is so very hot these days and the humidity is terrible. Larry offers us to spend the night in the guest room where it is nice and cool. We accept his invitation. Our European motorhome does not have air conditioning. We enjoyed a lot and can highly recommend this place.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Little Cedar Lodge. Larry, the owner, was very gracious and even met us at the end of his driveway when we arrived. There were full hookups available. We have a Class C, towing a Jeep, and there was plenty of room for both. Larry would not take anything for the hook ups so we gave him a hanging flower basket to show our appreciation for such great hospitality. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

We stayed here the end of July, 2022 and were delighted with our overnight accommodations and Larry, our super friendly and accommodating host. He gave us a tour of his charming place and darling gypsy cart he had made by hand That was a mini tiny house. We were surprised to have an electrical hookup for our Small camper van. The mini lights in the trees by the bench provided a sweet romantic spot to share a libation before bed. We will definitely stay here again if we are back this way!
