Hi We are located in the Kawartha Lakes region of central Ontario. This is a beautiful area with numerous lakes and rivers. Great boating and fishing, ATV trails, snowmobiling, hiking and biking. About an hour northeast of Toronto. https://www.explorekawarthalakes.com/en/index.aspx We have a large property with ponds and hiking trails you are welcome to use, and can accommodate large rigs. If you are travelling together with someone else, we can usually accommodate that too. As we love to travel ourselves, we may not always be available, but many of our trips are short or flexible on date. Please send a request with your tentative dates and we will see if we can work something out. We would love to meet you and hear your stories! Away from the city lights in a quiet and peaceful area, with great stargazing at night. You can sometimes hear the wolves howling in the distance, or get an occasional visit from a deer or a wild turkey. Suggested Local Attractions:Peterborough lift locks; Trent Canal; Fenelon Falls (a very pretty small town with a great beach, liftlocks, the waterfalls and Kawartha Dairy); Lake Simcoe; lots of outdoor activities available. 90 minutes south to Toronto; an hour north to Haliburton Highlands. Good boating, fishing, ATV, biking and hiking trails. Some local permits may be required. Lots of smalltown fairs and outdoor concerts over the summer months. Fenelon Falls and Lindsay (both within 15 minutes) both have good shopping for all your needs. Live theatre, cinema and a drive-in in Lindsay. https://www.explorekawarthalakes.com/en/index.aspx

Age:

55-65

Retired, young at heart couple loving the camping and travelling life (hiking, fishing, ATVing, meeting new friends). Our children are grown, grandchildren growing like they do, and we are empty nesters. We are quiet, easygoing, love all outdoor activities, and are just starting our travelling adventures together. We're based in central Ontario and would love to see all of North America! We love exploring new areas hiking, by ATV or by car. We like to socialize around the campfire at night with a few friends and a coffee or a drink or two. Not really into late late nights or big parties. Home Town: We live in the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, in the midst of many small lakes and rivers. We are right on the edge of where the Canadian Shield ends and the great farmland of southern Ontario begins. The best of all worlds. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Anywhere quiet and with space. We have met hosts from across Canada, here in Ontario and through many of the US states. Looking forward to doing more. Skills or Expertise to Share: Brad is a great mechanic and loves to figure things out. We live offgrid, so he's also very knowledgeable about the whole solar setup. Colleen loves anything to do with fabric and quilting, plants and natural foods. We're both pretty handy to have around, so if you need a hand with something, maybe we can work out a plan together.

We spent two nights here and absolutely loved it! The views all around are beautiful and it is so quiet. Colleen met us at the gate and took us to the large grassy area among flower beds and trees. She was very friendly and welcoming. I wish we could have stayed longer, just to hang out at the trailer and walk around the property, but we were visiting with friends who lived about 12 miles away, so we were gone most of the time. We would love to come back if we were ever in the area again!

this is our second time here. Large quiet spot with friendly hosts. We has previously met these hosts while we were boondocking together in Fort Myers. They had other boondockers there thsy we shared propane campfires with and a lot of laughs. Thank you again for a great stay.
