House Rules
There is a 3 acre pond on the property. If you worry kids or pets might wander into the water, there is nothing stopping them so this may not be right for you. We have a place for outdoor burning, weather permitting. Wood only. No garbage/plastic. We cook on it sometimes. (There are no longer horses on the property.) There is a streetlight over the parking area, beside the garage. It can't be turned off, so make sure the light from it won't impede sleep. Not suitable for very young children. Smoking is OK, but please don't leave butts on the ground. Generators considered on a case by case basis. If its as loud as our Onan propane one, we wouldn't want to hear it all night, even though our house is quite soundproof.

This is such a hidden gem! me and my dogs had such a great stay, we even stayed an extra night. 17 acre horse farm and plenty of room for your dogs to explore. If your dogs dont have a good recall I would recommend a GPS collar because there is lots of woods to get lost in. Thanks again for everything! highly recommend and we will be stopping here again!

Long Ranch is a gem … I can’t possibly say enough good things about it. It’s super close to Charlotte … literally inches over the NC border … yet you may think you’re in deep horse country. A beautiful drive down a dirt road brings you to Steve & Lorraine’s property … a beautiful home on acres of green grass, pastures and a huge pond where you can sit, relax and wet a line. Steve and Lorraine are definitely hosts with the most - super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Your dog (or cat!) can run free and explore the beautiful grounds and visit with Wooly, their super friendly and well-behaved dog. I cannot encourage everyone strongly enough to spend a night here and get to know this hidden gem and its wonderdul hosts. Long Pond will be a regular stop on my travels - I feel that I have not only found a beautiful place to boondock BUT I have met friends for life.
